Quoted from Andreas:If a game (solar ride) kills the house fuse directly when turned on where do I start looking then? Cable looks good going into the game. Trafos?
I figured that was a Swedish word that didn't get translated. Trafos = transformers.
Quoted from LynnInDenver:I'd say remove the cable, and use a multimeter in continuity mode (beeps when the circuit is closed) to check the cable, and where it goes into the transformers, to see if either is shorted. Also, check to see if the service outlet is clear, and that the internal fuses haven't been replaced with things like screws or foil.
Screws or foil?! Sounds like the chart is needed.

I had lost this image and when searching for it, came across a fun discussion on a Reddit thread linked to this image asking, I believe, an electrical engineer if these values listed were close. They aren't...something about melting points and science way beyond the science I was able to stay awake for in high school.
On topic, clown #3 bit the dust on my Circus , but after 38 years he certainly fought the good fight. I bought a new set of targets and found a few guides online for removing the banks. I guess everything from Gottlieb EM's up to System 80B are about the same as far as removal? The guides I found didn't seem to give much System-centric advice so I'll get to that this weekend. I did sneak in a few quick flipper upgrades and now I'm ripping the spinner pretty well. The left saucer was also getting kinda lonely with weak flippers so it's seeing more action too.
Quoted from desertT1:Added ground mods, it boots, beeps, then goes back to bed. Any guesses?
I found this bit of info about Haunted House, but maybe it's the same for Circus. That beep isn't normal.

SOUND BOARD CHECKS FOR GOTTLIEB HAUNTED HOUSE:
>Push test button on sound board
#Board will beep 1 tone if the RAM is bad.
#Board will beep 2 tones if sound ROM1 is bad.
#Board will beep 3 tones if sound ROM2 is bad.
#Board will beep 5 tones after a pause if everything so far is OK (repeats until you do something)
>Start sound trigger test. The book asks you to ground the pins on the P1 connector, but I find it much easier to ground the pins on the U16 chip. Take a metal pick tool and attach a jumper from it to ground. Use this to poke the pins of the chip. Note that pin #14 has +5 volts on it!
>ground pin #1 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>ground pin #3 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>ground pin #5 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>ground pin #9 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>ground pin #11 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>ground pin #13 of U16
#Board should beep 5 tones
>Push test button
#Board should beep one long tone
>Push test button
#board should stop beeping. Test is over.
Take notes on what works or does not work. Go on to the sound board repair page soon to come.
The full thread is actually diagnosing a Gold Wings, but someone refers to that diagnosis for Haunted House.

It looks like Mirco will be doing a small run of Alien Star playfields this spring!

Does any online shop have aftermarket MPU’s for System 80B? I ordered a Swemmer a few years ago, but can’t find any place with much of anything in stock now.
I'm missing the display mounting bracket for Bad Girls (part number 26103 in the manual). Any idea where I could buy one?
I'm ok with waiting for the myPinballs board. I'm trying to get a Bad Girls up and running, but it can borrow from my Night Moves for now. I could really use a set of plastics for Bad Girls.
Does anyone know where I could find a display mounting bracket (part #26103) for a Bad Girls? Any idea of what I could use if the part isn't available? I've scoured through various pictures of Bad Girls pinball machines and see that this part in particular isn't closely photographed, but it looks like just a piece of metal with mounting tabs on it that has a lip that is secured to the bottom of the backbox.
