I'm not a very technical person so this thread confuses the hell out of me, but I'm definitely interested in a easy to install replacement for my old, weak, and blue Creature hologram.

Also looking forward to seeing it in a game. Not even sure I know what it’s going to do anymore.

Put me on the imaginary list for the thing I know not that much about and haven’t yet seen working. Must. Be. First.

Why do I feel trolled by this thread?

Was losing faith for a bit but the new videos have me excited. I like the additions to the latest kiss video. Maybe the lips could do a pucker animation as if giving a kiss?

Punch Out in a Creech?

Looks great. Wondering if the liquid should be a dark color. Even if it isn’t on the game.

Awesome amount of personality you’re adding to these characters. Great work!

Quoted from pinballsp:

This will definitely be the look of the popcorn video. We will use the same background as in the video of the Cola, no other color combination looks as good as this. The designer is now making the latest changes and I publish the final video.
We put some more popcorn on the ground, and we reduced the amount of popcorn in the character's box, because it didn't fit very well.
And with these corrections, video finished. I think that as soon as the designer finishes with the 4 characters of the Snackbar's food (it only remains to make the ice cream and the hot dog), I already open the order list and publish the video of the complete product running on the machine, in addition to indicating prices, shipping costs, payment methods, delivery times and all the details.

Love the popcorn character! I think the popcorn and ticket on the ground look great but I’m not sure the film matches stylistically. Just my opinion.

Old-timey snack bar jingle might work

#1705 4 years ago
Quoted from pinballsp:

Thanks for the suggestion, it looks interesting. I also found these two pieces of music that could be used for this or other videos of the kit, one is free and the other requires a license, but it is cheap.
On the other hand, for the Video Editor software, we are looking to add these two options to the features.
1.- Be able to select from the input videos, the start, and end to use. So we can cut and extract the piece of video we want, to create the output video.
2.- To be able to add a progressive fading effect at the beginning and end of the video, which is known as "fade-in" and "fade-out", to avoid sudden inputs and outputs of the video and audio. This can be seen in all the videos of the kit.

Those are good. Here’s another real snack bar promo:

Quoted from pinballsp:

Improvements and changes in the Snack Bar video:
1.- Now the 3 spotlights move independently
2.- The city is modified so that it looks better on the sides
3.- The color of the sky becomes clearer so that the mask can be seen better on the screen.
4.- The speed of the song is increased to 1.07x (Average of # 1 and # 2)
5.- The color of the text "Open" is changed to neon pink
6.- The shape of the 3 spotlights changed to conic
7.- Preparing a 2-minute version to also use the background video with the Snack Bar Open signal active
8.- The colors of the MEGA MENU are changed
9.- Fireworks effects with sound are added
10.- Sky clouds double

As for the firmware, today I was doing quite a few checks.
1.- Programmed and tested reading and writing on the SD card with the configuration file. If an SD card without a file is inserted, one will be created automatically with default values that the user can edit and modify. The card is also automatically formatted to FAT if it is not formatted.
2.- Serial communications checked between the HolomodSP board and the Raspberry, everything works perfectly.
Tomorrow I want to finish programming all the triggers of the available videos, it is possible that it also includes that of the Snack Bar, although this one is more difficult to program than the others.

There are some more changes that I have told the designer to make:
1.- Visually invert the city horizontally, so that the tall building can be seen on the right (where it will look better), and the smallest on the left.
2.- Give curvature to the city in the background. The Snack Bar, such as asphalt, sidewalk and bushes have a certain degree of curvature, as if taken with a fisheye lens, while the background city looks very straight.
3.- Change the colors of the MEGA MENU again, now they look too light and before too dark, look for a medium term of clarity and contrast.
4.- Improve the neon effect of the OPEN text.
I think that with these small changes and the additional video with a duration of 2 minutes for background, we can end this video and start designing the next one (Jackpot or Superjackpot)

Impressive amount of thought being put into each of these videos. I appreciate that.

Quoted from pinballsp:

Trying with new font types for the Jackpot text and backgrounds. The size of the rollers is increased so that the drawings are more visible. For the center, we are thinking of taking some video scenes from the movie.
The background probably won't be any of those seen in these drawings, I don't want to repeat the same ray background that was already used with the Snackbar's food characters, nor use a flat-bottomed color. We have to do more tests.
In the animation, there will be many special effects, with the text Jackpot, and some colorful confetti effects. Animations will also be made of coins and some other things.
 [quoted image]

Maybe a creature themed slot using icons featured in the game? Reuse of the snack bar guys, creature faces, the old cars? Maybe results in 3 creature heads for a jackpot?

You see these kinds of themed slots a lot in casinos these days.

Quoted from Mr_Outlane:

Green back round, shimmering light rays and rising white bubbles will be awesome!!

This! Dark green lagoon with the super jackpot logo rising from the deep like it has just been stolen from the clutches of the Creature (because you’re battling him at this point). Maybe at the end of the animation you see his green hand swat it away to end the animation... taunting you to just try to get it again.

Maybe the Jackpot could be changed to a flickering film scrolling by. With the Jackpot logo getting bigger with each frame of film that passes by. Get it? You had to spell FILM to activate this mode.

Just trying to think of logical ties to what’s happening in the game.

Quoted from Davi:

Louis, the "Shoot the left subway" is not correct. Yes, manual says subway, but this is the physical location of the switch, it's not the name of the shot.
The name of the shot is "KISS" shot - it's according to inserts anyway.

And I assume “right popper” is the Slide?

I don’t know about the country bumpkin music either. I don’t know about any music in the videos. Strange.

I don’t know. Think replacing the whole playfield back panel scene would be cooler.

#2932 2 years ago
Quoted from nwpinball:

That makes zero sense with this game, there is a lackluster often failed hologram right in the middle of the playfield. For the past decade multiple people have tried to come up with solutions and alternatives to it to make it better. From repro holograms to Mike D's first video replacement, to this loaded mod, they all focused on the playfield window for a reason.

3 random screens popping up from the playfield makes is what I was referring to. I get the playfield window.
