Yup just ask the DMD owners how there coloured roms are going.
The irony is that the thing most people are raving about are the video clips, which he shopped out to a video artist. So, the fact that this can be created reasonably easily by someone who is with good computer skills gives me very high hopes that Compy will turn out a nice, working fully-supported device.
This thing has become the very definition of bloatware.
Holomodsp, videos and shipments 1 Batch.
Today, April 20, the first kits will begin to be sent to users of the first batch, within the period of 2 weeks announced in the payment request email.
We are now working to finish the VIDEO MODE video. For this video, a car had to be modeled in 3D, with the Blender tool. It was used in a previous video, but this time it also required modeling the interior of the vehicle where the characters are. This video will not yet be included in the kits that are shipped now, but the update can be downloaded, free of charge, from the project's Github for users of the full package. https://github.com/pinballsp/Creature-HOLO-ModSP
As there have been quite a few users who have chosen the external power supply as an optional extra, I am going to update the user manual with detailed installation instructions. Although it is a conventional 12V 2A, the correct installation requires that it be turned on and off at the same time as the pinball, for that two quick splicers are included with which to connect to the 100v AC of the pinball. Another way of installation is NOT recommended.
New chapters will also be included in the user manual V1.2, specifically these:
1.- Serial port output for MiniScreen Kit
2.- What to check if something does not work.
3.- Screen settings (brightness, contrast)
4.- Firmware update (RPY, Holomodsp)
5.- SnackBar Open (without videos per prize)
6.- Installation of external power supply.
7.- FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).
PS: by the way, NO ONE has NEVER been asked to make the payment by bank transfer. The user has been able to choose between Paypal and Bank Transfer, as EVERYONE who received the payment request email well know. I am going to assume that whoever made such a statement simply did not read correctly.
Almost all users, except a few, have chosen payment by Paypal, a standard payment that offers them the protection of Paypal for purchases paid with this system. If anyone has doubts, all my data are public, are on my Facebook, these:

I shouldn't even mention this, but in order to keep things correct in terms of the CFTBL storyline: There's not supposed to be 3 people in the car like the picture above shows. There's a young guy and a girl in the car on a date, trying to get romantic, and there's a creepy pervert behind the car, looking through the back window, trying to spy on them in order to get his jollies. He's not their friend hanging out in the backseat of the car.
Meh, do whatever.

Version 1.2 of the User Manual is now available, to which a few chapters have been added. Downloadable from the project Github, in English and Spanish. https://github.com/pinballsp/Creature-HOLO-ModSP/blob/master/User%20Manual-%20instructions/README.md
New chapters added:
1.- External power supply installation.
2.- Awards at Snack Bar Open
3.- Screen configuration keyboard
4.- Firmware updates
5.- What to check if something fail
6.- FAQ (frequently asked questions).
We continue to advance with the penultimate video of the FULL package, this is the Video Mode. The car was already modeled in 3D with Blender, a long time ago. Now it is going to be used in this scene, it will enter the Drive-in from the back, turn and park in front.
From there the animation will develop in a similar way to how it is seen in the DMD. The boy and the girl inside the vehicle is spied on by a peeper through the rear window of the vehicle. Now working on a simulation of the dynamics of car shock absorbers to make it as realistic as possible, and all this with a cartoon design, like all the scenes.

A 800 USD Mod with cheap, sh*tty power splicers instead of custom cables?
As much as I hoped PinballSp would finally deliver a good product with well-thought Cable- and Power management, in the end it's the same stuff as always: cheapo, fast thrown-together stuff
The only parts that are quality on this mod are from an hired artist and the factories that produced the pcbs and chips.
I, for my very personal part expect custom cables, precrimped or soldered power connectors, depending on the option the customer chose.
Printed instructions, labeled cables, antistatic bags and custom boxes might be only an neccessity in my opinion, but c'mon, if you expect people to pay that much you better deliver something that's worth the benjamins.
Its the overall satisfactory experience that makes you sell things, not the hardware alone or the videos or the software.
Call me nitpicky but thats how it should be done (hint at @compy)

Man alive, keep talkin like that and the product is gonna be $1000, and no after sales support!!

Cmon man. The cables could have been 14kt Gold and you would have complained they weren't 24k. You've made it expressly clear you're not buying this mod. Your personal vendetta has overcome your common sense. Leave well enough alone. The proof will be in the pudding when the first batches are shipped and installed. Then those that actually have the mod can praise or complain for actual real feedback. Not continued nonsense born from a tantrum or perceived slight from the past.

Some of your arguments are right, some not. I’m not expecting 24k gold, only basic connectors and (almost) fool-proof installation. Would you really pay that cash and have to cut cables from a brand new psu? That’s like buying a new car and drilling a bigger hole into the gas intake because the gas pump doesn’t fit.
For positive reviews there should be at least some customers that bought it. I don’t care if they’re willing to pay for it. It’s a crazy world nowadays
Im not warning anyone to buy or not to buy (greets to Shakespeare) but sharing my opinion.
After a few years of development, custom ordered cables, and wiring harnesses (see posts in this thread) and Luis almost pedantic focus on small, nevertheless unimportant details I would have expected just a little more.
I really was expecting a top-notch, well engineered, well thought-out complete package and that might have opted me in to ~10-15 units for resale. But nah, thanks.

Fair enough....however its my understanding none have shipped yet per his previous post, so noone has a unit in hand yet to review.

very valid argument! Let’s wait a few days/weeks and hope someone is willing to share his/her opinion and experience with us.
I think we should just be thankful hes running the system from an external psu and not off the local 5v/12v rail like the dmd products which will put strain on the old psu board components. But yeah after 4 years id of expected a custom plug and play cable to tap into the power
Holomodsp, VIDEO MODE, firmware 1.2.0.
We are already animating the video of the VIDEO MODE, the vehicle arrives at the Drive-in and the scene will begin based on what is shown in the DMD, with the peeping Tom spying through the rear window. There are still enough things to do and correct until the final result.
The PDF instructions and the necessary tool to update the firmware have been uploaded to the project's Github. The current firmware v1.2.0 has also been uploaded for the Holomodsp board (blue board) and the firmware for the Raspberry board (8Gb) is being uploaded.
This is the link to download the firmware and update instructions:
https://github.com/pinballsp/Creature-HOLO-ModSP/blob/master/firmware/README.md
The latest firmware version will always be available on the project's Github. The instructions are always the same and have been uploaded separately in English and Spanish together with the Win32DiskImager utility to update the Raspberry board SD card.
The shipments that have already been made for the users of the 1st batch, will have to update the firmware to add the last two videos that are being designed now, the Video Mode and the "Creature carrying the girl in his arms". Updates for the additional video packages (2 packages of 6 videos each), as well as for the MiniScreen kit control, will require requesting an activation code, to be placed in the configuration file, after making the purchase.
Holomodsp, 1st batch shipments.
Last week I already started shipping the orders for the first batch of the Holomodsp kit.
With a little delay, of the 30 units from the first batch 14 were shipped, and this week I am assembling the remaining 16 units to ship. Next week is the deadline to ship the second batch.
Attached pictures of the product packaging, with variants including optional extras (SD card, USB stick, external power supply).
Also pictures of the 16 units that I am assembling right now, they are panelized boards, 4 panels with 4 boards each. Fully assembled waiting for programming and machine testing, before proceeding to packaging and shipping. All units are tested in play to avoid any failure.
All products have a 1-year warranty for any manufacturing defect, and support for any questions by email, skype, telegram, WhatsApp and telephone.
The VIDEO MODE video is almost finished, some details are missing, I hope to have it between today and tomorrow. If the video is finished before shipping the remaining 16 units, then I will upload the updated firmware, otherwise the user will be able to update the firmware to version 1.2.1 by downloading it from the project's Github. Users of the 14 units shipped last week will need to update the firmware to get this video in the game.
This is the project's Github address to download firmware updates and user manuals.

Holomodsp, VIDEO MODE video, still in development.
We continue working on the VIDEO MODE for the hologram kit. NOT THE FINAL VERSION YET, there are still things to add and correct. In this preview, lights were added to the car, a flashing VIDEO MODE sign, a new face and head design of the girl and the boy, the peeping Tom showing through the rear window.
Things to do:
1.- Animate the mouths of the characters to emulate that they speak, as seen in the DMD
2.- Animate the turn of the girl's head so that she looks towards the rear window, revealing the peeping Tom.
3.- The girl returns to her original potion, tells the boy that she has seen the peeping Tom and he will raise his eyebrows in anger, as seen in the DMD.
4.- The voyeur will appear and disappear several times throughout the video, and it will do so from the sides and from below. When he appears from below, he will sometimes reach the level of the eyes and other times the entire head.
5.- Zoom back of the car to have a wider and more varied plane of the scene, so the car headlights will also be seen and we will take advantage of it to give a few flashes of light in the headlights, as was done in the video of the film.
6.- With the plane opened by the zoom, we will try to place the walking dog that we already put in the video of the Film.
7.- Add special effects sounds, for the possible version with sound of the kit, if done it will be only with the special effects since mixing the pinball music with the music of the videos does not give a good listening result.
Holomodsp, shipment of the last 16 units of batch 1.
The last 16 units remaining to be sent from batch 1 have already been assembled and tested. Last week 14 were shipped, and with these 16, they make the total of the 30 units of the Hologram kit for the first batch.
It only remains to pack each kit with its cables and optional extras per order and everything ready for shipping. My intention was to have packed today and send tomorrow, but it has not been possible, the shipment will be made on Tuesday.
By the middle of this week it was planned to start assembling the second batch, but it will be somewhat delayed, it will be for Friday of this week or Monday of the next. Right now I am out of stock of screens, supports and with very few processors for the Holomodsp board. Everything has been ordered from the suppliers for some time, the screens should have been sent from China last Thursday but they are still held at origin for shipping by DHL, the supports are manufactured in Spain, I hope to receive them in 3 or 4 days, and MK66 processors have a delivery date, by Fedex, for this Friday.
The delivery times of the agency (SEUR) are 24-48 hours for Spain and Portugal, 3-5 days for Europe and 5-7 days for USA / Canada. Although now due to the pandemic there may be slight delays. As soon as I make the shipments, I will provide the tracking numbers to each buyer by email. International shipments are forwarded by DPD for Europe and by TNT / Fedex for USA / Canada.
'first batch' is so much fun to keep redefining.
Back on Jan 5th, it was 20 units he already had parts for and shipping in 1-2 weeks. Everyone here was waiting for reviews from people who supposedly bought then, expecting shipment then.
There there was the day in March where again... a 'first batch' was promised complete and shipping in 1-2 weeks. Then at end of march redefines 'first batch' to now be extended to 30 units... (but as we know from history... still didn't have the parts then, because he doesn't have them now either)
I guess people haven't been quick to pay up when he keeps requesting payment.
Still waiting on some honost customer reviews. How was the install, how the play, love to see some real life video.
Quoted from PeterG:Still waiting on some honost customer reviews. How was the install, how the play, love to see some real life video.
I know that due to the hologram age/discoloring/blackening problems something needs to be done with the windowed area, but the main problem I have is the new videos that play there have a completely different art style. It doesn't match the art on the playfield so it looks out of place to me.
Quoted from PeterG:Still waiting on some honost customer reviews. How was the install, how the play, love to see some real life video.
Yup...Still waiting for an actual review from someone who has actually installed one in their Creetch. Hello? Anyone have one yet?

How many big mods like this have you produced? I see you complaining on a lot of threads, like too many that I read. Do you have any experience creating mods or pins and the types of delays that can be involved? Why do you shit on other people's work so much when you could just say nothing? I don't get it.
Quoted from nwpinball:How many big mods like this have you produced? I see you complaining on a lot of threads, like too many that I read. Because this guy is slime. It's not just 'oops, something came up' or genuine mistakes. It's a pattern of stretch the truth, selectively decide what matters, deceive, bury facts, and rewrite history when it doesn't serve him. He is harmful to buyers.
It used to just be he was an engineer who was passionate about his interests and openly shared his concepts and attempts at putting them into reality. At first it was just the running joke of 'what final version' is this one? Because for every 'final' version there would be 2-3 more versions within a week. The guy loves playing with building circuit boards to do anything. But left unchecked he's a problem - because he constantly blows smoke to cover his past and is taking people to buy into his projects with his version of reality.
You can't tell what is real, an estimate, or just wishful thinking. And that's not even getting into his lies and attacks on others for his prior projects. I always lol inside when you go back and read all his attacks on others for requiring a license to unlock their software and protect their assets.. and boasting about his needs no such 'burden'.... and then he rolls out this product with license keys to protect his assets. Funny how that works when the shoe is on the other foot.
This kind of deception shouldn't go challenged - because you'll never get the straight juice from pinballsp.
What's your excuse for doing it on all the other threads? At some point you've got to stop blaming everyone else for your bad behavior.
Quoted from nwpinball:What's your excuse for doing it on all the other threads? At some point you've got to stop blaming everyone else for your bad behavior.
What's your excuse for generalizing and making this thread about me vs the facts? If you have a specific beef, bring it up and if I'm wrong, I'll happily accept correction and say so. But if your issue is I don't just pray for rainbows and unicorns - piss off.

pinballSP is a hack and fraud with an incredibly bad track record. Everything he makes is cobbled together from other peoples work from stack overflow and various other forums. The only thing actually worth anything here is the videos. That's why his gets 'shit on' You don't see any one shitting on Compy and other credible mod makers. The guy is a total joke and the support for this thing will be none existent. Best thing you can do is buy it, throw the hardware in the nearest bin and copy the videos onto compys version.
Looking forward to seeing @compys version and the excitement that will create.
He posts his warez here to get all of you wet, but answers zero qurstiones on it, provides zero support or answers for rhe stuff he already built.
Making something is not the hard part, its providing the wide range of support pre and post sale that makes the difference between a fraud or valued member of the community.
His prior projects are incomplete, and he refuses to answer anything about them, here or directly. Then he posts how he wont be on the forum any longer.
But wait! He has something shiny and new!! Well, time to rev up the hype machine and thats when ppl start forgetting the facts..

The video's are fantastic and i'm sure it will sort of function as intended (although totally over engineered and could of been build soooooo much cheaper) so hard to throw out a 'I told you so' But that will come when he jumps onto the next shiny new mod and forgets about this one leaving people without support or updates.
Quoted from flynnibus:? Dated January 7th
[quoted image]
sure... I wasn’t left with the impression anyone sent any money though... he came back to the drawing board. I understand English isn’t his first language so it is hard to piece together reality, but I’m not under the impression anyone sent money back in January. We’re kinda splitting hairs at this point though... he’s just recently asked for money so now he needs to deliver and can be judged, any judgment prior to him collecting money was what I always struggled with and he didn’t do that for years and years. Complaining about someone not delivering something he hasn’t taken money for just seems misplaced. There will be ample time to complain afterwards.
Edit: I do think the people that bought his DMD's have all the right in the world to complain and complain loudly however. He has under delivered dramatically there imo.
Quoted from russdx:The video's are fantastic and i'm sure it will sort of function as intended (although totally over engineered and could of been build soooooo much cheaper) so hard to throw out a 'I told you so' But that will come when he jumps onto the next shiny new mod and forgets about this one leaving people without support or updates.
I only know of one project he has left his customers blowing in the wind on... his DMD displays... are there others? I know he has teased a bunch of things, pop-bumper LCD as one example, but other than the DMD's I can't think of another product he has left people who actually sent him money hanging on.
Every time I see some posts on this thread, I pop in, hoping like most people, to see updates on the mod and hopefully some customer reviews of the first batch. I'm in no hurry and I do want to order it if it works well, if it doesn't I'll go with Compy's and mount the TV flush. What I find instead is the same couple people concern trolling.
Quoted from flynnibus:I always lol inside.
Is it even possible to laugh out loud inside? Seems like an oxymoron to me.
Holomodsp, sent all the packages of the 1st batch.
I said Tuesday, but it was delayed a couple of days, today the 16 orders that were pending for batch 1 have been sent, and that together with the 14 that have already been sent, are the 30 that I manufactured for this first batch.
Most go to the United States, the rest to the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and France. Transit times are 24 hours for Spain / Portugal, 3-5 for other European countries and 5-7 days for USA / Canada, although now with the pandemic it could take a little longer.
I will start to assemble and ship the second batch next week, now I am out of stock of screens and supports. On Friday I hope to receive screens (100 units) and processors, and for next Tuesday the supports.

Welp I will be the gunnea pig I just sent over a lot of loot. I will do a review and unboxing to share with you all.
Can't wait to hear how it works! Honestly, looking at the entire package of equipment, packing, the videos, etc. it all looks very professional and well done. I'm not balking at the price as much, especially seeing what people are paying for Stern toppers that do nothing to enhance the gameplay experience. I realized the dude failed to fully support one other project and the caveats that have been pointed out multiple times on the thread, so getting an honest review I think is the next important step.
Quoted from Soulrider911:I think 860.00 is the most I have ever spent on a mod
I spent around $2,500 for the Bride 2.0 mod, but it completely changes the game and seemed worth it. And it was one of those deals where we had to wire a large deposit like 6 months in advance, then wire the rest before it shipped. It felt a little like gambling (more so in retrospect, given what happened with Dutch Pinball's next project).
Send me specific instructions on the price in American dollars for everything I need to make this thing work and the easiest way to pay and I’ll step up and buy this thing.

which by then im sure will be abandoned for mk77.
I wanted to buy this mod for my brother in law. My best friend for 32 years.
I was on page one of this thread saying I wanted it it.
I sold my Creature a few years ago, and my BIL wanted the hologram from it. I sold it and told him don't worry I would buy him this mod.
Since then BIL was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have emailed this guy several times, told him that my BIL had a brain tumor and please add me to the list.
Brother in Law died Thursday.
I'm still not on the list.
That's fine... Don't need it anymore.
