Quoted from pinostalgia:cheddar,i'm curious how's your hollywood heat project going?
Getting ready to start it. Should be able to tackle it in the new year. A friend gave me a populated playfield with a perfect ramp on it so I shouldn't need any new parts.
When it went into the garage a few months ago it was booting so it shouldn't be too much effort
Quoted from Cheddar:So I commissioned a proof of concept on Fiverr. I think I should have it finished[quoted image]
Looks good, but abit...unpopulated? Funny enough i also had some Patrick Nagel plans for my HH, but on the playfield.

I'm thinking of adding a palm tree silhouette and moving the figures right and making them bigger. I've got a couple tweaks to make it more Nagel too

Im planning to add one of Nagel's girls (leaning towards the one from the Rio album) in the left lower corner, continuing the plastic down from the Hotshot part (where it abruply ends) and have her cover the outhole abit, and with a big maybe, add in some stylized palmtrees here and there, if i can find somewhere for them to fit.

yeah looking for best practices on this.
Adding a little color to the building should help tooHH Colored Building (resized).png
UGH Gimp 2 has a nasty export. The PSD doesn't look like that around the logo

I had to do some research before i sent my translite to the printershop, first version came out almost like a white light thanks to my HH having a LED tube installed LOL, had to darken the colors abit before i got it right.
I suspect your translite will light up a whole room as it is now, since its very bright with bright colors and lots of white.
Quoted from racer_x:Can't believe I've missed this thread. Here's mine. I also have the other custom translite it came with, if anyone's interested.

What the heck! hahaha looks like someone else had the same idea as me with Miami Vice translite!
Quoted from Pinsforfun:Just noticed my sling shots are not scoring any points? Do they score points, if so how much?
30 points, there are the two lower ones and another slingshot on the middle right. there is also a switch above the upper right flipper that scores 30

Thanks, I'll check that when I get home tonight.
Just joined the club!! My Hollywood is en route. Not sure exactly how bad it’s going to be. “Powers up, but won’t start a game” could be a lot of things. I’m sure I’ll be asking the club vets for some help in the coming weeks/months.
Glad to be here! Can’t wait for it to arrive!
Just got my mold finished for replacement Hollywood heat ramps. If anyone is interested in having one made, I will be selling them in clear, pink and turquoise PET-G pending how the colors turn out. Pricing will be $55+shipping.
Taking orders now and trying to get ideas on how many of each I am going to need to make. Some will be ready to ship this week! $50 for clear, $55 for colors, plus shipping.

I got mine and it's awesome. Great work on the lighting on yours btw
I am so glad there is a fan club for this game. I sold mine 4 years ago and miss it. Like everyone says its hard to find a good one. I'm a huge Vice fan and I put a color changing bulb in the loop bumper that looked great. I also added thin EL wire around the edge of ramp which gave it a neon light look. My favorite part of this game is the mini jump ramp to the upper playfield section. I dont think I have seen thos on any other game?
Quoted from 20eyes:Got my new ramp installed today! Now we need a repro plastics set so I can replace all my broken re glued plastics.

Looks so much better now!
Quoted from WpgPins:20eyes , Where did you get those pink/purple rubbers and post guards?
Titan does the rubbers pink/purple/light blue. All look great on this machine! I actually broke mine up with all three colors for different areas of the PF.
Quoted from gentrsa:Here is mine, I think it looks better, just need to fix the sound which stops playing after the attract mode is done, and during game play, weird

Pot on voltage regulator.
Quoted from WpgPins:20eyes , Where did you get those pink/purple rubbers and post guards?
Rubbers from titan. I honestly thought it was stupid when I first saw them.. Colored rubbers... Eventually I couldn't resist putting blue on my Genesis then naturally pink for Hollywood Heat.
I put the posts with sleeves on all my 80B machines. The metal ramp protectors I basically copied the idea from cliffy for Genesis ramps and laser cut them at work. The exact same design ramp protector so far I have put on Genesis, Hollywood Heat, Gold Wings, Monte Carlo, 1 on Tx Sector.
I stopped in my favorite dive bar last week to play some Goldwings, when I was pleasantly surprised to see Hollywood Heat added to the lineup. I was even more surprised after looking it over that it was my old hh! It looked and played a 1000x better then I ever had it. Also had the hottie alternative translite which is a nice touch. Personally I love the captive ball with bumper and one of my favorite upper playfield designs on any game.
Kind of forgot about this game but now I'm hooked again and would love to meet out in front of the Carlyle Hotel one more time.
Looking to buy a Hollywood Heat translite or if someone could make me a copy of their original would also work.
Quoted from CruisnNY:Looking to buy a Hollywood Heat translite or if someone could make me a copy of their original would also work.
I have an old one from my retheme project. I can send you a pic. I don't remember what kind of shape it is in.
I'm really enjoying this era of Gottlieb pins, HH just might make it into the lineup if one pops up in my area.
I've created these custom apron cards, and am making them available for $10 per set, including US postage. I print these on a photo printer using OEM ink (no cheap third party) and OEM ultra gloss photo paper. I then cover in 3 mil clear gloss laminate, and razor cut to size.
Please PM me if interested.
Hollywood1 (resized).jpgHollywood2 (resized).jpgHi guys, I just got a Hollywood Heat as my first pinball machine! One problem Ive come up against is that whenever one of the right drop targets goes down, using either flipper will cause my score to go up by 3000. Ive done some research and looked at the leaf switches and everything looks normal to me (or at least the same as the left drop targets which all work perfectly fine). Are the switches supposed to stay in contact the whole time the drop targets are down?Anyone have any info that could help?
For those who have the color changing effect in the bumper- can you tell me where to buy this mod? Thanks
Figured I'd post my machine as I had a proud moment.
Came home from work to a topper on the Hollywood. Girlfriend found it at a goodwill. Little battery operated plastic neon flamingo. Mind you I have no toppers on my other machines. She took it upon herself.
As for machine, i let girlfriend pic the shop items. So cointaker leds, titan purple rubbers, one of Jody's ramps. Stripped playfield ultrasonic cleaned all posts/stainless from the years of coil dust.
Mechanically reflowed power supply, battery board, reflow daughter board, cabinet ground mod.
Have easy 200 games on it no issues. Only issues are mylar is bubbled, cabinet base has some sag that needs fixed and typical wear for a 30 yr old game. But she is a player.
20200314_225953 (resized).jpgFinally got mine! It’s rough but I hope it will clean up nice. I have two playfields to work with so should make for one decent game. One playfield is nice enough but it’s got some age to it.
