I finally finished redoing a great EM pin, Bally's Hokus Pokus and I was wondering about the correct angle of the flippers to be set at (seen different set up on YouTube) as well as is there a "Hotter" coil to use in the flippers? I installed new coils P/N AF-25-500 28-1000 per the manual. I installed all new components for the flippers, and they do work well, but they don't really spin the spinner like my former EM Williams Grand Prix did. I had another EM pin, Space Time, that I put slightly stronger coils in as recommended here on the forums and that was a nice moderate boost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am very happy with the game so far, runs perfectly now that I've changed out a few burnt up coils etc.

Flipper angle is your preference, and you could certainly try hotter coils for them.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you

Your machine looks great. What LEDs did you use? Colors and brand?

Not sure what flipper coils are factory, but I would look at the Pinball Resource site for the next hotter coil. Research what the numbers mean for the coil and see what is available.

I used cointaker LEDs color changers for the spinners as well as the abcd targets. Rest was cool whites, reds at top and twinkle at the word hokus pokus on the backglass. I used their premium ones on all active lights and standard classic LEDs on the gi lights. I will have to check on pbresources website. I didn’t know they had a list of next hottest coils.

PBR has a list of coils. You will have to figure out what might work better for based off of his inventory.

Thanks for the info on the LEDs.

Here is my set up, The coils are AF-25-600 28-800 and I put the flippers centered on the toothpick holes. It launches the ball really well.

So are these stronger coils? Not sure how to determine them. Mine are af25-500 28-1000.

Ok, after reading more on pinrepair.com, I already have the stronger coils installed. Guess the main difference between this EM and my old Grand Prix was DC powered flippers. Thanks for the help!

You can always install Gottlieb flipper coils if you really want to blast those spinners.....

By the way, what plugs do you change for the special when lit? The manual says to “see plug chart” but I don’t see one in the game cabinet nor backbox that addresses this. I see the one for the gate below the playfield, the match in the backbox, so where is it? I’d assume it is one of the plugs at the front of the cabinet near the coin door. Can someone tell me which one? I added a pic of the suspect plugs.

Thank you, this helps. My game is missing this placard. I'll print it out and stick it in the game for future reference.
