Quoted from dannunz:

What does that load arrow on the kick back mean? Hmmm I wonder if that's more than just a kick back?

The original playfield drawing showed an up/post to the right of the kicker. I figured it was to hold the ball, then you'd have to earn it back or something, or maybe a drain lane ball lock ?

Who is da man?

Guy in the black shirt next to the guy in the red shirt.

I'm sure JJP is professional enough to provide the warranty service it has promised to all of its customers

You've got that right. I don't have to like a person, to do my best to help them with their game.

Quoted from DCFAN:

I guess my question is how do they show the full game and still satisfy the studios requirement to avoid spoilers from the 3rd movie.

People manning the booth will have tasers and upon exiting the booth they will apply a mild shock to your head to erase memory. Lobotomies for the resilient ones.

Quoted from YKpinballer:

Medieval Madness troll clones? Now you're talking! This is one of the best reasons to go for a MM... because the trolls are hands down one of the coolest things in pinball. Now that they're incorporated into The Hobbit, I feel less like I'm missing out if I don't get MM to get The Hobbit instead.

Wait until you see the mechanism underneath.

Top side of playfield might look like a MM troll, but underneath is a huge difference.

Quoted from John_I:

Hard to believe JJP did not bring the Hobbit to Free Play Florida this weekend. The show this weekend is literally 2 minutes from IAAPA too.

I would imagine it is hard to do two shows, a thousand miles from home. The logisitcs to do one is a lot of work.

Even if only two minutes away, you don't just walk in the door and it happens.

And you can't be gone from work/home all the time. Or cover every show.

If FPF wants them next year, maybe contact Jack and ask what is needed in help and assistance to make it possible.

Quoted from jwilson:

WOZ doesn't seem a very popular game for modders.

Lighting, lighted apples on the pop bumper trees, lighted state fair pop bumper, throne room head. Castle walls, emerald city 3d thing, toto in backet, tornado, witch well. Cliffy for spinning house playfield.

There have been a few.

What kind of Hobbit are YOU getting? LE or SE?

And will there be pancakes when it is dropped off ?

I played it at Streamwood before Expo. No problem making lots of ramp shots.

Quoted from Skyemont:

Is the pin fun?

I had a blast playing it. Get other opinions or try it yourself if you can.

I'm not a great player and I look for the fun factor. It reminded me a lot of a Mark Ritchie pin. Fish Tales, Kingpin, Indiana Jones. I really liked it.

What's next? A 12 hour miniseries based on a letter J.R.R. Tolkien wrote to his nephew in 1963?

MMr at Expo were leveled like shit too. Felt like 4°

They were set at 6 1/2 when set up. And level.

No idea if someone changed them or they settled into the rug.

I was there. I wish you would have said something so I could have checked them.

And I talked to Rick right there, he knew people weren't happy with the slope. That's all I can say though.

I'm sorry. I thought you meant TPF. Rick wasn't at TPF.

One assembly line. JJP can run two different games down it. Which may well happen as Hobbits are rolling and Pat's game starts in.

#6036 4 years ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

I heard everything should start June 1st, production and shipping around the clock production, 2-3 shifts to get Hobbit done so Pats game can be on the line before the end of the year.

That number of games going out, tech support should get interesting.

The clear on the right edge of the switch slot appears to be cracked.

Needs a Cliffy. The ball sits there and gets kicked back up the lane by the plunger. The plunger hitting the ball on that spot will be hard on it.

So this is where we're at for the production of Hobbit?

10 playfields (at least one with a defect)
Boxes of trolls
Some corrected back glasses

Not quite. You are seeing a heck of a lot of parts being stock piled for going into production.

Go to the open house in August and see for yourself.

I hear that Hobbit/JJP won't be there. Why??

Maybe they are more busy getting that line rolling ?

machines catching on fire,

Total BS, please stop spreading crap like this.

Yes there were some issues with inductor coil burning on unified power supply boards. No worse than a locked on solenoid in any game. Some smoke and stink. Nothing more.

They have heat. Huge block building. Even if you pumped a lot of heat in there, it would still be cool on cold winter days.

So why is JJP shipping machines with the default flipper strength so low?

They might be strong at the factory ( higher power/voltage to games ). Easy to increase strength if needed.

Quoted from FalconPunch:The first machines they ship all went to arcades

The first three or four test ones were. No telling once they started rolling out the door. Not every pinball buyer posts on Pinside.

Just loaded 1.90 and I'm getting some unattended jet bumper action randomly while playing. Anyone else seeing this with 1.90?

Please go into Tests - Switches - Matrixed and bang on playfield. Make sure you don't have a sensitive switch issue.

I've had no problem with 1.90P or 1.90

So who wants to take odds on when it will actually drop?

Testing now, and on the games at Freeplay. So unlike Expo where they had a million things to do at the close of the show, I believe it will.
