JP's rejected animations look sick, this really does prove how messed up the studio is in getting things by them. So they don't like the sweet animations but they like the playfield art... and the Smaug toy.O..K..

Ok, whoever is going to this thing, we need you to spend the night out front tonight so you can get in first thing, get yourself through the crowd, resist the temptation to play the Japanese butt slapping machines and sega toilet games, and make your way straight to the JJP booth and file a full report with pics and video, and no waiting to get back to your room that night to upoad. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.

I like a lot of the changes I see, awesome job guys. Will the LCD have flipping pages animations? That would be pretty sweet if it did.

I like the new sculpts better also, good job Matt

I'm wondering what they are going to do with the bezel around the lcd, I think it would look a lot better if it were thinner and some kind of engraved look. Right now I think it's way to fat in proportion to the lcd, but I think I read somewhere that it is just a place holder until a permanent design is made.

I agree the coins on the pillers adds a real nice touch, the pillers should definitely be grey or dark colored.

Wow all day and no video, in this day and age that's hard to believe.

The columns really do look awesome Matt, really gives the feel from in the mountain, now imagine if they were the grey or greenish, the gold coins would really stand out, where as right now they sorta blend in.

Quoted from Goronic:

What do you guys think about the white flippers with yellow rubbers. I think black/black would be the way to go. Thoughts?
Also, can the L O C K rollover targets change color? - just curious...

I think I might change mine to gold shiny flippers but not sure yet.

Can someone get some close ups of the powdercoat tomorrow? Not sure if I saw any good pics of that yet. I'm sure pics can't do it justice, but would like to see anyway.

Loving the red LE one , maybe just a little more black shadowing in the crevices to really make the scales pop?

Ok the picture isn't there anymore, why?

Quoted from beelzeboob:

Personal decision. I really like the colors with the dark seaside bronze...it fits the color scheme of the machine better. (I really wasn't a fan of the gold, either in pictures or in person.) I also like how colorful the LE cabinet is and that it features all of the characters from the film, not just the dragon. There's too much gold and too much dragon in the SE. It's a book, movie, and game about a Hobbit, not a dragon (who isn't even in it for very long). At the end of the day, you're also paying an additional $500 for an attract mode.

I stayed LE for pretty much the same reason.
