My 1st NIB game ever is looking mighty fine so far. Love the new look display format with the main video in the middle and the corners containing progress indicators/possible modes.

Quoted from tmort:

Game looks great. I am planning to pick one up. 1st JJP.

So agree and looking towards getting mine. The next update when it comes will hopefully consist of more of the pf and its features being revealed. In for the ride and enjoying it so far.

Anxiously awaiting an update to my first NIB. Perhaps next week or the week after during TPF or MPE.

Quoted from Plungemaster:

I hope they wont be up all the time. Would like them to only see for a few seconds, and not to often.

Not like on mm where they come out and you have to shoot them 3 times a piece. I hate that from MM.

Non main toys and mini play fields should be used very rare. And short periods. So it stays exciting instead of annoying.

It's fun bashing Trolls on MM, but gets very annoying on forums.

Where did the outlane targets go? Did they get axed or moved as I can't seem to locate them.

The Hobbit 3: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
Blu-ray / DVD release date estimated April 2015

Perhaps on DVD/Blu Ray release time frame. Was truly hoping TH shipping wouldn't drag out like WoZ but so far......

I see nothing they type unless someone quotes it. Stop quoting the trolls!

#4294 9 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

If you ignore someone even their quotes are obscured, what are you talking about? It's one of the brilliant features of Pinside.

Wow, just noticed that was changed for the better. Thanks Aurich

Likely waiting for Blu-Ray release date to hit this month. Then BOOM, update time.

Why would you assume the game coming to Ohio would be different than the game shown last weekend?

You mean: OHIO.

Nah means ohio?

Extended Blu-Ray of 5-Armies due out either this summer or winter like the rest of them. No website seems to know for sure or has released definitive info.

Upper flipper shot present in game that I know of is ball exits to right out of bumpers, flows down right orbit to upper flipper for a shot to the captive ball to relight the kickback/windlance.

#5539 9 years ago

Nah, think epic JJP troll that keeps getting banned and uses multiple accounts.

Curious to see what the differences are on the new pre-production machine from all the earlier prototypes. What will move, be added hardware, plastic and art wise.

#5843 8 years ago
Quoted from Pinstym:

Shot this 5 minute video Friday at Allentown. I had my video set to Ultra Hi-def, so kinda disappointed that the vid seems to only have 360p as the highest setting. Advice would be cool if I can fix that.
First time seeing the game in person. Wow. Pretty incredible.

Video at 2160 (4k) looks incredible. Many thanks.

Thiel did Star Trek and Mustang. That seems to have been his last two. Have no idea if he's just out of rotation like designers do sometimes.

StarTrek has great sound work, can't believe Mustang's though.

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Regularly I would wait but I have a chance to get a Smaug SE spot for $7500. If I wait I'll be looking at $9k or $8.5k for an LE.

Better jump on that opportunity while its hot.

Quoted from statsdoc:

I think that an upgrade to the current left top of the pin is wishful thinking ... but that does not mean that you are the only one wishing.

Totally agree on your statement. Here's to hoping there are some surprises yet to come PF wise.

Rumor is an update will be coming around the time of the Pintastic Show on the 11th-12th.

#6964 8 years ago
Quoted from Chrisbee:

Hi guys, I know there is a lot bad feelings out there about hobbit and how things have gone, and with reason.
But, this thread is meant to be the “Hobbit Update” thread and not a place to just dump on JJP.
To me most of you guys have got your point across with how you feel about the situation, maybe it’s time to turn this thread around.
So please post here if you have some NEW or relevant information, PLEASE!

I wish the moderation team lots of luck with that.

Pintastic should be Fantastic! The Hobbit update just a few days away.

JJP future looking even brighter.

Main takeaway from the article: "Jersey Jack Pinball will manufacture the much anticipated Hobbit line of games this fall, and has announced a collaboration with famed pinball designer Pat Lawlor on a new, original-game to be launched in the spring of 2016."

YES!! YES!! YES!!

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

I don't come into game threads that I have no interest in purchasing or playing to start arguments and make jabbing comments. Now that is truly sad.

You just described PINSIDE 101. Take the course like most have in this thread and off topic post away.

#7807 8 years ago

Over / Under of there being an update given at the open house this coming weekend that says and shows Hobbit on the production line? Expecting a Hobbit update of another sort more than likely sad to say.

Wish I could be there for the fun.

#7849 8 years ago

A new "The Hobbit" item popped up on the Jersey Jack Pinball store website today.

Threads get derailed by those that want attention and seek drama. All permitted by pinside rules so the cycle repeats itself endlessly Hazoff.

#7964 8 years ago

I have to agree kind of disheartening that no Hobbit news came from the open house. Maybe they are letting the pizza settle first before delivering the news.

Nice to see the off-topic forum is doing well.

#8048 8 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

Hey, if you have Hobbit news share it, we'd all love to hear it.

It would only get lost in the hundreds of useless posts like those above it. So no. Add in another useless post

#8050 8 years ago

Nice to know a mod team member views the lack of on topic material the right to post anything they want anywhere despite the thread subject. Thanks for the clarification.

Now all that time the staff has spent on off-topic matters can be shelved to do something much more site useful.

Quoted from TigerLaw:

JJP could have filled this thread with news and buzz had this past weekend been what we were lead to believe it might be.
Regarding the discussion of Stern's LCD display as it relates to the Hobbit, I personally don't feel it's off topic. Stern's employees have been hinting that GoT is going to surpass the Hobbit and have this massive BOM with a dragon ball lock and what not...now we hear that GoT might not have an LCD display like the Hobbit will...
Directly relevant? Nope. Ballpark relevant? In lack of other news I'd say it's certainly ballpark relevant. Similar themes. Supposed to have a similar release date (though now it seems GoT will beat it to market). Similar price points. Rival development teams.
The lack of an LCD display will mean GoT is less likely to poach customers off the NIB market from TH.

The trolls and cynicists in this thread could learn a thing or two from him.

Truer words never before typed.

Quoted from beelzeboob:

How can you tell this is a JJP thread? Some serious douchebaggery has once again crept into the conversation.

Thanks for the prime example. BeezleBoob for Mod!

#8384 8 years ago

I like the armor color change as it fits the Hobbit theme better.

Wonder what the 1st 2016 update will consist of?

#9071 8 years ago
Quoted from PanzerFreak:

The next update may very well be (and hopefully) that games are shipping. The time for "drop target mechs have been built" type updates has past. Let's see these games get out the door.

Think again, update just more parts. A few Smaug heads.
