Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Hobbit is horrible and Metallica rules.
You're welcome!
Hobbit was invented for the noob pin buyer who thinks coil count and the amount of cacophonic mechanical noise a game makes at the start of each ball somehow translates into value. The game is the pinball textbook definition of "trying too hard."
Metallica was made for people who like awesome pinball machines.

Just for once please stop with your insulting smart ass comments.

The people that own Hobbit bought it because it's a fun loaded widebody pin with full licensed assets and has one of the deepest objective rulesets ever created in pinball by two of the all time best pinball programmers, Keith Johnson and Ted Estes. There's no reason to insult owners of the game or the team that created it.

To the OP, buy the game that you like the best. Hobbit and Metallica are two very different pins with the one similarity being both are fun pins. I prefer deep objective based pins over those that tend to focus primarily on points so that's one of the reasons why I enjoy Hobbit so much. For what's it worth I bought Hobbit and Metallica NIB...Hobbit is still here.

You have terrible taste.

and yet another insult... I guess my cousin who has 6k+ plays on his Lord of the Rings and loves playing Hobbit when he comes over doesn't know what he's talking about as well. Real pinball is only a couple ramps, orbits, and minimal mechs!

Just for the record, besides actually enjoying playing Hobbit I also bought it because my Uncle and I saw all the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films together. He unfortunately passed away a few years back but I owe it to him for getting me into the films and books. Just an FYI for when you consider insulting someone next time!

You opened your post by calling me a smart ass. So what do you expect? That’s not an “insult?”
Everybody here thinks their shit don’t stink, but it does. Especially in this heat.
You’ve made it clear over the years you are the EXACT kind of buyer I’m talking about; impressed by “toys and coils” and “bulk and weight” and LED
Screens and little else. Hobbit is a perfect game for you, but the OP asked for opinions and that’s what he got. If he’s like you, yes, he should probably go for hobbit (a terrible game with lots of coils) over Metallica. If he’s like me, he’ll probably like Metallica better. It’s up to him, not us!
Oh and bringing up your fucking dead uncle is truly despicable and low. Are you serious with that shit? REALLY?!?!
Totally disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself for invoking a dead relative to “win” some dumb internet beef. Just ghastly.
“You can’t say hobbit sucks because my uncle died. Shame on you!”
Really dude? REALLY?!

Do you know what you said originally? Here it is below. Again, you insulted owners and the team that made the game.

I brought up my uncle as he's one of the reasons I'm into the LOTR / Hobbit books and films. That bond we had is partially why I bought Hobbit, not because I'm some noob pin buyer who just cares about coil count as you claim. I brought that up as you made the rude comments below, glad I did.

Finally who the hell buys a game just on mechs and weight alone? People buy games because they like them. It is possible to have a loaded game that weighs a ton yet is also fun! Same goes for a game that is rather empty with minimal mechs.

Ignoring the drama and voting for Mustang LE - its a great game that never got the loved it deserved.

Sure is, damn tough game to find now.

Makes no difference which game is better. You played out MET and time to move on. Should be easy to sell. If Hobbit interests you than go for it. You can always trade it out for something else if it gets old fast.

Spot on! Go with what you like the best. Selling Metallica doesn't mean it's a bad game, it's an awesome game, just sometimes you want a new one and there's only so much space and or $$$ available for this crazy hobby.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

Metallica all day every day on this one. Which is surprising for me because.
I don't like Metallica as a band, but the rules are great.
Hobbit I wanted to like. I love LOTR and wpanted to pair it with LOTR. Was watching closely from when it was first introduced and followed it closely as it was being developed. More development that took place, the less I wanted it. Watching Hobbit develop, was like when SW EP 1 was released. You saw it, it wasn't that good and you hoped the next one would get better. And got worse the longer it went on. Hobbit is a bottom tier game.

What about the GI? Lol

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Nobody in the pinside guitar players forum ever brings up dead relatives to try to win an argument.
"Oh really, you think the BC Rich Warlock is a shitty guitar?! Well my aunt gertrude - who LOVED that guitar - is dead. What do you have to say for yourself now?!"

Here's the initial reply, pretty ridiculous eh? Lol

"Fenders are horrible and Gibson rules.

You're welcome!

Fender was invented for the noob guitar buyer who thinks string count and the amount of musical noise a guitar makes with each strum somehow translates into value. Fender is the guitar textbook definition of "trying too hard."

Gibson was made for people who like awesome guitars."

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

So? What's wrong with that, you are entitled to your opinion.
I'd certainly never get so butthurt over an opinion that i’d play the dead uncle card.
Besides, I don't engage in such petty tribalism, as you can see![quoted image]

You've now brought up my deceased uncle more then I have, getting weird. Also, I originally said I partially bought Hobbit because of my uncle getting me into the films and books...not because I'm some noob pinball buyer as you claimed.

Glad you don't participate in tribalism when it comes to guitars...now do you have any JJP's in your collection
