Hmmm... was hoping to find some new insights and info on the Hobbit pinball itself. For example brainwaves on how JJP will fill in those 17 slots or what Smaug would look like and what he can or can't do with the ball in those mentioned "multiple ways" ...

But no... it's another discussion on pre-ordering... again!

Quoted from LitzDoc:

I am on the fence about preordering the Hobbit. I am going to buy one at some point too go next to my LoTR LE. I just don't want to tie up 8,000 for 18-24 months. I am sure that when these get delivered some people will have second thoughts and will sell their TH LE. That is what I am banking on right now. I think this has happened with WOZ LE.

Good thought... but that holds only for the peeps who have a well tamed patience.... If the game sucks after all, yes it's easy to get one later on. But if the game is great more people will make a run for it and it's hard to get hold on for some time after release and at a nice price.

That on the WOZ LE... I have not seen one coming for sale locally without a huge price-increase.

The question of "will a standard version be made" cannot be answered straight away, because some licenses allow only a certain amount of games to be made. Unknown this is the case here... but just mentioning.

Yes, the 1500 LE's are almost sold out by now, and Yes there will be hardcore pinballers waiting on the sideline, and Yes there will come even more interest from none-pinballers (movie-fans)... This makes more room for an extra batch of (standard) games.

More interestingly what will the position of the operators be in this? Operators will definitely prefer a 'standard version' over an LE's simply because of the price difference. They want most bang for their buck.

Would it be that obvious not to make a standard version? I think not...
