So announced on Yahoo.com today Hobbit 3rd film delayed by 5 months.

This is likely going to delay JJP as the release should be with the final film

It would be stupid to delay the release. It's not like they are creating spoilers for the movie...the book was published in 1937... i think it is safe to say that we know what will happen in the movie.

#4 11 years ago

I heard JJP was the CAUSE of the delay.

#5 11 years ago

Like they (JJP) weren't going to be delayed anyway.

Some "chump" gave this a thumbs down??

HEck this at least gives them an excuse

#8 11 years ago

I'm sure they will have too. If it has clips from the movie I don't think the studio will allow them show those in the game. Movie studios are usually stingy about people see stuff before the movie releases.

#9 11 years ago

Jack has already stated that they still expect to release the game close to the originally planned ship date (July.) It may go a month more out (give or take) but he certainly hopes to ship games before the release of the movie. As he noted, without question the trailers for the 3rd movie will be out by then and the movie assets with which they're given to work with are not much more than that (lengthy trailers.)

#10 11 years ago

And further clips can always be added to an update after the 3rd film is released.

#11 11 years ago

Either way it will be a long wait and probably longer then predicted by JJP. Just know that going in and you won't go crazy during the process.

Unfortunately, this concept won't get through.

I'm sure somewhere on the PF there will be aspects of There and Back Again, that are exclusive only to There and Back Again. I don't think New Line/Warner Bros, will allow any kind of content to be released 5-6 months before the movie. Especially since JJP will be using actual movie sequence's on the LCD screen, in association with PF shots. Now to shoot myself in the foot.. sort of. Apparently LOTR was released in October 2003.. that makes it 2 months prior the release of Lord of the Rings Return of the King. GAH!!! However a DMD doesn't quite display the same footage as a LCD screen allows, so maybe New Line/Warner Bros let it slide.

#14 11 years ago

Delayed ... Yes
Next question.

#15 11 years ago

Good. Maybe it will give them time to actually edit this time around.

I'm sorry, but why do people continue to believe anything he says when it comes to ship dates. How can he even talk about ship dates for game #2 when game #1 has nothing firmer than "March" yet?

#16 11 years ago

kool aid?

#17 11 years ago

I would bet jjp paid them to postpone the release. Shit hopefully woz is out and complete by then.

If there's a new way I'll be the first in line, but it better work this time.

Am in on Hobbit and it has been a long ride. I remember getting in when they first started taking deposits two months ago. There was lots of yelling and a knife fight or two. So the sixteen additional months originally forecasted has grown another six months? Don't people realize Jack is making a killing off our investments in interest.

So looking forward to playing my Hobbit, when it shows up in 2014. I know for a certainty it is going to be so awesome and surely Jack will like it. Primarily I am excited about their third title. I don't want to say to much about it here (cough.. H.P. cough), but it will be killer.

Kind of strange nobody has asked yet when JJP's third title (cough.. H.P. cough) will be released. Sigh, guess everybody lost interest in what's going on over at JJP these days or maybe they have moved on to other hobbies.

Harry potter? (Groan)

Actually, I like the music. Theme doesn't do much for me though, if it is Harry Potter,

#23 11 years ago

Hp? Are they copying sterns strategy of releasing themes several years after their popularity subsides?

Help out a guy who knows nothing about waht a Hobbit is; Is the Harry Potter theme related to The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings?

#25 11 years ago

The lady that wrote the HP books has said no to pinball. The comments she made were pretty negative of pinball so I highly doubt HP means Harry Potter. So what does HP actually stand for? any tips from the people who threw that out there?

#26 11 years ago

HP = horsepower? High Performance? Or best of all H. P. Lovecraft?

#27 11 years ago

HP, maybe Hardcore Porn?

#28 11 years ago

Hewlett Packard? Michael Stroll's old company before Williams.

That could be interesting, a machine that looks like a computer and printer. Complete a mode to print sheets, could be tickets. Complete another mode to reboot or whatever. The targets could be computer keys or printer buttons. It would fit in great in the office. Maybe guys could put them in and their bosses would not know.

#30 11 years ago

Hp will never get made because the author is a close minded idiot that thinks pinball is still a gambling device. She doesn't have a clue what she's talking about.

#31 11 years ago

A big question for future pins is who gets the license for Star Wars?

#32 11 years ago

I thought it was long rumored that JJP's third title would be an unlicensed Haunted House theme? So possibly they tweaked it slightly to "Haunted ..." Places? Planet? People?

JJP's third pin.

#34 11 years ago

I don't care who makes it but I would love to see a zombie theme, how about "The Walking Dead" or "Dawn Of The Dead"?

#35 11 years ago

Since we are merely speculating, and maybe Jack will chime in, let's expand the question. What will JJP's third, forth and fifth pins be?

#36 11 years ago

Return to oz, wicked, then the new oz

#37 11 years ago

I would like to see a zombie pin, maybe not based on any movie or tv show, but just a generic title. Gotta Love Zombies!!!

#38 11 years ago

Keep on sippin'

Personally I think JJP should immediately cease and desist on Hobbit or any 3rd-4th-5th games and just get the damn WOZ finished using all available manpower - once it's done, then the team can move on to the Hobbit at full force. Even if the programmers and artists have to go down to the factory and personally screw in bolts.

This late in a project adding more manpower to a software team is often counterproductive, because the amount of time you spend telling the new guy what's going on it way more than the amount of work he actually gets done. The actual physical production of the machines is a manpower problem, but if the hold up is in software: hands off, don't jiggle their elbows.

JJP's third pin.

Which will be announced and deposits collected on before #2 arrives at the buyers door. Just kidding around a bit all please don't get bent out of shape.
