You can get a credit card with that kind of limit and 21 months interest free or something crazy. I don't really condone going into debt for a hobby, but if you're set on that idea don't get raped with interest.
If you absolutely have to do a loan I would recommend taking a 401k loan. While you pay interest on a 401k loan you are paying it back to yourself, and the loan setup fee is fairly low. A $6k 401k loan over two years will result in maybe $75 in fees...far cheaper then any bank or credit card loan.The only downside is the money left in your 401k account will grow slower due to interest compounding on a smaller amount.

At one point I think I had 2 years free interest on enough credit to go buy a new car. CC companies seem to want to give you more than enough rope to hang yourself.
