Quoted from NicoVolta:

Jig Saw not as much. Feels like more of a bingo/“play for specials” Gottlieb game to me.

ROFL! But hey... the design is killer and I know you appreciate that!

This TPF is presents the rare opportunity to view the Rockola Trifecta, 1933 World's Fair Jigsaw, 1934 World's Series and 1935 Army Navy. The first two are playable. Jigsaw holds the record for production volume at some 70,000. 50,000 World's Series machines were produced. It is not known how many Army Navy's games were built, only 23 are known to exist. I have a website that is dedicated to the Rockola pinball machines, http://www.buckwerx.com

Great work by Jeff pulling this together. My favorite from a play standpoint is Jigsaw.

At its peak, Rockola was churning out 1,200 World Series a day.

You read that right.

What does Stern make in a week? 50?

Hope the one at TPF is in a glass case and locked up...

Do any of you own or have any information about the 1936 Bally Blue Bird? I recently bought the one that's on the IPDB ( http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=324 ) and, well, it had a bit of an issue with the #11 hole as you can see in the pictures I love the backglass and am considering restoring that playfield but I'll need more reference material to do it.

Nice looking game. Did he say what happened to the playfield? Looks like he spilled something toxic on it. Any problems with the 16 hole? Looks like what ever spilled into 11 also spilled into 16.

It is actually a burn. I was looking for better pics on my phone but no dice.

#59 2 years ago

I guess it was electric fire from hole #11

Wow! What a cool game. PLEASE TAKE SOME HIGH RES PICS and upload them to IPDB. It's a shame there's only that one image for reference. Anyhow...

...yah, that area could use a little polish.

All joking aside, the touch-up shouldn't be all that bad! You know that the 11 hole has rings and wings, which exist on every other hole on the playfield. Also, it's orange and number 11. Just take the scan of #15 and duplicate the #1 a couple of times and you've got your #11. The rest of it is a solid cream yellow. Hard to mess that part up.

The thing I'm having difficulty seeing is what is ABOVE each hole. Is that a car or...??? Also, is the above-hole graphic the same on each hole or different on each hole or occasionally repeated? Anyhow, pretty please can you post some pix for us?

Regardless, nice find!

I mean, how cool is this artwork? I love the graphics. I forgot to snap pics of the backbox though. That’s what won me over. 1936 Bally Blue Bird.

thanks for the pics! Were any of these for sale? I eventually want a prewar mechanical game and want to get an idea of the market...

A few were for sale. Prices for pre-wars range from a couple hundred to $20k+. There are several factors that determine prices - condition, rarity, intricacy, looks, fun to play, etc.

Jeff - thanks a million for doing the pre-war booth again! It's awesome having you there to talk to all the visitors and babysit these beauties.

Thanks. I don't think I'll go for one of the fancier ones like World Series or Army Navy or Jigsaw etc, but I have my eyes on a more basic one like Jiggers or Blue Ribbon. I will probably stick to a $1000 price limit in my search

a few more of the booth that i found on the camera
