I was discussing burnt GI connectors with a fellow collector, and we were wondering how much of an issue this was when the machines were brand new. How long did it take before GI connectors started burning up? 1 year? 5 years? 15?

Seeing how long this issue lasted, I'm guessing it took a while before it happened or else operators would have been complaining about it...

So was this an actual issue when machines were brand new and on location?

Pumping higher current through a connector that it was rated for. Could be anytime.

My experience in commercial use twelve hours a day, everyday, was problems are starting or there by the five year mark.
