I've had this kicking around in my head for a while now (as you can see from the post date of the first video below, May 2020). I've messed around with it for a while, got distracted, came back to it, etc. I should be able to stick with it now, we'll see.

Anyway, I plan to use fastpinball hardware, and I kinda lucked out that I messed around so long that they're almost ready to release their new hardware. Go figure.

I bought a BluRay copy of the first movie a while ago, figured out that no computers in my house have a DVD drive any more, and had to buy an external drive. I need to rip it and pull the clips.

I have a vague idea of the playfield layout in my head, but I'll experiment as I go along.

I've had a thing for Highlander since the 90s. Movies and TV shows. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to incorporate both, we'll see. Regardless, you can't go wrong with the soundtrack.

I'll post pics once I get my act together. Here's a start with some videos on the scratch built cabinet. I'm almost done with it. Finally...after it sitting there, viscously staring at me for 2 years.

Oh, and my toddler is Connor...and boy 2 will be born at the end of December...he may be Duncan. We'll see. Definitely no relation to anything in this thread.

No promises on video making skills.

Yeesh, a seriously fun movie, with a stella soundtrack from the greatest band of all time, Queen. This theme will live forever.

Have fun making it, or at least having a go.

How do you like that CNC? I've seen some videos on it and it looks pretty slick

Nice! My all time favorite movie.

I've been playing around making a highlander pin in virtual pinball for at least a couple years now. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

That's awesome. Look forward to watching it come together. The reboot movie is supposedly coming soon from the director of John Wick.

    There can be only one.

It works good for stuff like signs and such that don't have to be accurate. But it is terrible for making things like small circles (e.g. button holes) and such. You can make some cool things with it, it's just not too useful for pinball stuff except for maybe the bigger cab pieces.

There's one out there. In fact, someone just released an updated version of the backglass. It's fairly basic, but a fun game.

Thank you! I've heard about a re-boot for some time. I'm sure they'll screw it up somehow...probably by thinking beheading is too violent or something and making it PG.

About 2.5 years ago, when I started building my Virtual Pin cab, I bought a bunch of hardware for this. Because, if you buy 2x of everything, your wife won't notice that you're starting two projects at once. And somehow the $$ doesn't seem so bad on the second project. Well, in the interim, we had a kid, so most of my stuff was boxed on put into the back of the closet. Over Thanksgiving holiday this year, I dug it all out and organized it. I'd actually bought quite a bit more than I remember. Always a good surprise. Here's some stuff I found:

    A whole bunch of hardware:

Some score reels, octagon style, new pops, flippers, and slingshots:

    Amp, speakers, fans, etc.:

Various wire and some "might use" mechs:

    Drop assemblies:

    Bells & Whistles:

Zipper Flipper mech, maybe a Medusa style feature or something?:

A couple kick out hole assemblies:

Rails, trim, and a monitor for the backbox:
