I'd put a meter on it and see if the switch works ? and if you have continuity of each wire from switch to board in the head.
Needing adjusting or a broken wire ( possibly at another switch ) is more likely than a bad switch.
Youtube has lots of short videos on how to use a meter and checking continuity, should you need some learning.
