New to the hobby and not tech savvy, so please bear with me.

Got my HS back and it played well initially. Then the background music cut out after a few games. Next the pops and slings stopped working and there was a faint burning smell.

The NVRAM at J25 was hot to the touch so I turned off the machine. The awesome seller of the chip sent me a replacement and a regular RAM chip for testing. No improvement with the RAM chip but as I was waiting to see if it heated up, I checked the other chips and the labeled one in the picture below was very hot to the touch.

Not sure what to try next; willing to try any quick fixes but won't have a meaningful block of free time until mid March.

All suggestions welcome. Thanks!
