I’m working on the acid damaged MPU on my Highspeed, I cleaned all the acid damage, removed U41, Socketed U41, checked all my work,
Everything seemed fine. Now I have an extra segment on The upper displays. Can somebody please help me in the right direction of which trace I need to look at to see why I’m getting an extra segment?

Or am I looking in the wrong area altogether?

I did have to cut off the 6821 to get the socket on and had to do some repair around the socket holes. Replaced with a new 6821.

Did the damage get up into the resistor network packs?

Segment P.
U13 on the display interface board (7180) or the upstream inverter.

It is pin 16 of the ribbon that communicates that bit. Use your logic probe to see if pin 16 is pulsing during display test.

No sir, None in the resistor packs, it was isolated to U41.

Thank you, I’ll dig out the probe and check in that direction

Pin 16 on U13 on the display driver board pulses high and low at the same time during display test
