This, 110%. I had a client's Pinbot start smoking from a failed bridge while he and I were discussing leaving the machine off until I could come back with the parts to do the modification. I had used up the fuse holders I had doing my Space Shuttle and High Speed a few days before. It was a good thing we were standing right there when it happened, I managed to shut it off quick, but I still had to replace a bunch of wiring. He was about to put the machine out on location, I can't imagine how big a disaster that could have turned in to.

Wow! All the better to perform the mod or the board.

Found one last flakey bulb holder in the back box so not able to have that not right I replaced it.

A few shots of the lit up red/blue flashers on each side. It really gives a cool effect of police lights when they go off.

And printed some new apron cards. We finally replaced our old printer with a later jet. Can’t believe we waited so long but our crappy old one wasn’t feeding right. Nothing like heading for inspection and trying to print out your insurance card and the print is all messed up where the VIN and valid dates are.

Add a red and blue led strip to the back box.

Here is a video.

1) that looks nice
2) that custom message is going to prep me to come by and take care of those high scores haha

Great job Dave. It looks fantastic.

You do amazing work dave. This is one of those games that looks so good when done, and this title is made to play fast, which I am sure it does , indeed!

I'm no pro player, but I can hold my own.

So how are you liking those clear pop bumper bodies? I’m thinking I should add those to my game I know that’s an area of the playfield that’s pretty dark so might be beneficial to brighten up a bit.

#110 3 years ago

I really like them. I’ve yet to use them on my own games yet but have a few other playfield swaps. I picked some clear and translucent orange for my WMS IJ. Not sure which ones yet.

I will say you really need to use a pop bumper type bulb to take advantage. They really do give a lot more light when used with any of the pop bumper LED “board” style lights.

Good to know. Yeah I’ve never worked with the boards for pop bumpers just stuck to 47s or 555 styles.

Someday I want to color match skirt, body and cap on my getaway. But with high speed you gotta keep the classic Williams caps on there like you did.

Knocker is now installed and functioning. It was there at some point as screw holes and plate were there. I did add the diode.

Leg plates also came yesterday so they’re upgraded.

I am a big fan of those leg plates, so I bought 10 sets of 4. I like them so much I was afraid I wouldnt be able to find them some time in the future.

I’ve had a lot trouble with them. They don’t fit flush. I’ve had to shim them in both of the games I installed them. (Mata Hari and World Fair). I’m afraid to even try them on my Eight Ball Deluxe.

I had to do the same thing with the Gottlieb Card Whiz that I'm working on for a co-worker. I had to do extensive repairs to the cabinet, so when I rebuilt the front cab corners I modified the corner bracing to accommodate new plates. Had to shim the back ones. Still worth it for the piece of mind.

I guess I’ve only done them on Willams/Bally System 11/early WPC and they’ve been ok. Good to know.

I guess this one is now completed. It’s going back to its home tomorrow. A couple quick games and all well. For those who asked, I do keep my garage heated in the winter.

Just found this thread. Nice job on the PF swap. Good documentation on the way.

I did a complete restore on my #HS a year ago including a new cabinet. It was a fun restore project. Learned a lot.
