I have been really wanting to do some work with the Mission Pinball Framework. I have long wanted my own custom machine, but I am not the most creative person in the world. As luck would have it, I stumbled upon a High Speed in VERY bad shape. The playfield is roached and will need a Hardtop. The cabinet needs work. The back glass, boards and plastics are all in great shape! So, since I have to do a considerable amount of work to it.. and I bought it for $100, I figure it would make a great candidate for doing some custom work to.

So here is my thought process. Instead of going whole hog for my first custom table.. I thought I would keep the original artwork and playfield design. Instead work on new rules and modes, similar to what Cactus Canyon Continued did. That way, when I finish, if anyone with a High Speed wants to do the same, they can buy a $400 board and be up and running in a couple hours!

One thing I am a HUGE fan of from CCC is Drunk Multiball, where the flippers reverse. So that is the first mode that popped into my head.. A Drunk Driving Multiball. My initial thought is this, When you have a Multiball going, set it so if you re-lock the balls, it will kick off Drunk Driving Multiball. Queue some music and a drunkenly slurring series of call outs.

Obviously, this is not a project that will be done in the next few weeks, or quite possibly even in the next year. But I have the parts, so why not!
I am open to suggestions for new modes and rule changes. The only caveat I have, it there can not be any changes to the playfield andit must work with the existing switches and hardware.

Some pictures to give an idea of the damage this poor machine has seen.

To reverse the flippers, you're going to need to make some hardware changes. CC has solid state flippers, so it's just a code change, but these are hard wired...

Good point. I will have to look further into that, but I think it would be worth it.

Nice project!

Which hardware platform do you plan do use? Looks like this is a System 11 machine. There are multiple options (http://docs.missionpinball.org/en/dev/hardware/index.html):

- Snux board + P-Roc (http://docs.missionpinball.org/en/dev/hardware/snux/index.html) -> Replaces the CPU. Reversing flippers would not work easily
- APC (http://docs.missionpinball.org/en/dev/hardware/apc/index.html) -> Replaces your driver board and CPU. Reversing the flippers would not work out of the box. It might be possible to do this in software in APC (AmokSolderer might be able to tell something about that)
- Rewire the machine and use modern control system such as P3-Roc, Fast or OPP -> Everything is possible

My plan was to use a P-Roc for this.... However, I need to look into APC. If it can make this work, even better!

The easiest option would just be to get a dpdt relay and wire it into the existing flipper wiring. Energize relay - > cross flipper switch paths. Connect relay to an extra driver on your new boards.

I'll buy this if you program 3,000 point scoring for those of us with a first-run High Speed hardtop misprint.

LOL! It will be free when I finish it... But I think I can make that an option really easily.

My initial though was to use a fliptronics board, but that might be even easier.

I think it will be hard to improve on the original.
Good luck
