Torn between which is better, high speed or high speed 2. Just played the original and forgot how addictive it was.

I’m gathering parts for my full restoration on a very worn out high speed. CPR will have new playfields available hopefully by December, I will wait if I have to for a playfield swap versus a hardtop install. Love them on a space shuttle I did for a friend, but really want a new playfield if possible. Does anyone have or know of a new cpr or NOS playfield available for sale now?

Thank you,
Jason

Quoted from Lovef2k:

Oh and the cutting of the star roll over inserts was painstaking.

I was wondering how this was on the hardtop. So how does the rollovers work since you can't raise them up like switches?

Waiting for CPR to make another run of playfields, but keep debating on a hardtop for my High Speed. I liked the results on a Space Shuttle I did.

Quoted from Aflacjack:

Got my High Speed restoration done. Hard top and all new parts

Looks great! Any difficulty taking out the rollovers for the hardtop? Just use a heat gun and socket to pop it out? I was waiting for a new playfield on my restoration because the playfield is an absolute wreck, however since it will not be available until around December now from CPR, I bought a hardtop instead. Last hardtop I did was for a Space Shuttle and that when smoothly since it was just sand, polish, and stick.

My pics for my flashers aren’t the best after I tore it down. Course I have no idea if the game even worked because it was just a wreck siting in a tractor trailer for 30 years with the batteries installed that I’m trying to bring back.

Can anyone confirm the color wires going to the flashers? The ones under the playfield were never desoldered. In some of my photos like the back flashers on top of the playfield, the black is going to the case and the red to the bottom. For the two flashers on the left side, the red and orange wires seem to be going to the case or upper solder point and the black goes to the bottom. Does it make a difference?

Thank you for your help.

Just finished painting the cabinet on my restoration of high speed using pinball pimp stencils. As always, great product and great results. Would have been Waaay easier to just slap a decal on this. But again, happy with my results. The yellow is actually Isuzu gold so has metal flake in it.

It’s alive!!!!! After 30 years with the batteries installed in a tractor trailer with mice and snakes, it’s alive!!!!!!! Thanks mainly to pinball pimp stencils, dumbass pinball boards and other pinside member with their cool add-ons like clear ramps and decals. All I need to do now is replace the beacon motor. It works, but seems to be missing teeth or something. Spin up perfectly, then next time, could hear the gears grinding with no beacon movement.

All in all, fun game and glad it did not end up in the landfill!

Motor was replaced via Marco. All is well. Did have an odd issue with the background board. It would never turn off at end of game. Seems a chip was bad. Put in new board and presto, fully functional perfect high speed!

Quoted from Lovef2k:

Excellent work on the re-stencil!

Thank you. Pinball pimp stencils are great. Plus I love to customize the paint color when I can.

Quoted from SYS6:

Can someone tell me where these parts go?

They are covers for the two relays under the playfield by the hide out kickouts. That is what I think they are anyway.

You can just see them in my photo above the flash bulbs.
