Hello everyone. I recently picked up a High Speed in pretty rough shape. Game plays but I'm having display issues of course. This is my first sys 11.

At first some displays worked about half the time, then all stopped working. I noticed the F1 display fuse was blown. Looking over the master display I saw a blown chip, but I also noticed my board doesn't match any other board I've seen. The main board is the same but in U12, U13, U14 and U9, instead of 7180s there are 7183s on a daughter board of sorts surrounded by (8) MPSA92s... The blown chip is one of these 7183s. Now I know 7180 and 7183 have different power capabilities, but if I replace the blown 7183 with a 7180, do I need to put it/should I put it on the daughter board or just mount the 7180 directly to the MDB U12 etc spot without the daughterboard/a92s? Would there be any bad implications to having one 7180 and three 7183 working together in this way?

Also, what should I look for that caused the damage on that chip? I'm guessing the chip blowing blew the fuse but not sure what would cause the chip to blow.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hoping someone can help me out. I recently got a HS project. Almost done with it and buttoning up loose ends.

I have two red and a brown/violet wires hanging in the back box between power supply and MPU. The reds are different shades.

The reds and brown/purple comes up from cabinet along with a gray/yellow. One red and the gray/yellow goes to the connection board with/resistor near the topper relay in back box. Red then returns out of that connection board and goes down and is zip tied back into the other red and brown/violet wires where they are now just hanging.

Can anyone help me out? I looked on the schematic, I don't see any brown/violet...

Thanks

Grumpy, somehow I knew you might chime in with the answer. Thank you!

So I've since found pictures showing the red and brown violet on the knocker, which my knocker is missing but what about the second red that comes back down from the relay resistor board?

I'm working on pics but my phone is not cooperating atm...

Thanks for the help with this. I guess until I get a knocker I can just twist the reds together and tape them up. The brown too.

Thanks everyone!

Quoted from detroitzoran:

I had some new traffic light housings printed up using ABS plastic. They're a little rough, but I think I should be able to smooth them out with acetone vapor. I test fit the lens in one to see how well it fit and it was perfect.

I'll take a horizontal! Sign me up! I'll smooth it out, no worries!
