New High Speed owner here. Picked one up a few weeks ago and I have a question about the ramp outlet. When I hit the ball through the upper ramp and it kicks out the end, all of the momentum stops and it basically drops the ball on to the playfield. I always thought there was better flow coming from that shot so I’m wondering if my outlet guard is misaligned or if there may be something else going on. Or is it intended to stop any momentum and just drop the ball “thunk” back onto the playfield. See photo. Thanks for any suggestions.

Relatively new HS owner here. I’ve had it for a few months and everything’s been working pretty well so far. Just last night the upper flipper lost all of its power. The main flippers are ok but feel a little soft too. Thinking I should rebuild them all while I’m at it. I’ve never done it before so I was hoping someone could point me to the parts I would need as well as any thoughts on if I should be farming this out or if it’s pretty simple to do on your own. Should I use the rebuild kits or replace a full assembly? Thanks!

Quoted from RCA1:

First, figure out what's wrong and fix that. Rebuilding the flippers won't necessarily fix the issue you are having.
Get rebuild kits from one of the reputable suppliers. See if flipper bushings are included in the kit and order them separately if not. You want to replace those as part of the rebuild and sometimes they are not included.
Replace the flipper bats if they are damaged.
No reason to replace the whole assembly.
You can do it yourself if you're reasonably handy and can solder wires to switches. Also a good way to learn how things work.

Thanks for the advice guys. I finally got under the PF and realized it was only a wire that had come loose. I re-soldered and she's better than ever. Simple fix is usually/hopefully the answer.

@the_great_man, I have to say I never considered using mirror tape to create my own mirror blades for my HS, but that was the best $12 and 45 minutes I've spent on a mod for any of my pins. I may be late to the game and that might be a well known thing, but that one was a pleasant surprise. You are a Great Man!!!

Quoted from STLOkie:

Sure looks like it. What a great idea. I'd imagine you need at least a 3" band like this:

No, I used Chrome finish vinyl.

12''x78''Chrome Mirror Silver... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LY81CAY

I only used about 1/2 of the roll but I wanted enough in case I screwed up (which I did). It was really slick and easy.

Quoted from The_Great_Man:

Thanks Ryancaseystudio. I used the silver chrome vinyl wrap 12" x 60" for $7.99 on ebay. Now you need to get the stoplight from RobTune - real easy to add and it really opens up the ramp. Then get the "High Speed Pinball Sign' on ebay to cover the metal under the ramp. The lighting on your game looks real good.

Working on RobTunes stoplight and the Red Ramp from FreePlay40. Going all in on this one.

Hey guys. I've had my HS for about a year now and the only thing that is driving me crazy is the significant humming I get from both speakers during attract mode. It matches the light show and I'm assuming it's a grounding issue somewhere but I don't know where to start. Plus I don't know what I would do to figure it out. Any direction or ideas would be appreciated. It drives me insane.
