My TFTC has a high pitched beep at startup which might be normal but I get the same beep every time a coined is accepted (sounds like it is coming from the bottom speaker, not the backbox ones). I have a Coin Controls C220 on it and leave it like that for the coin drop callouts. However, the loud beep is annoying and I haven't heard it on games in the wild or found anything the controls to turn it off.

Is this a Data East thing?
Is it because it's a re-import?
Is it because of the C220?
Any ideas on how to stop it?

Beep bump

Thanks for confirming at least, maybe it's some weird European law, just wish I knew how to disable it.

Solved! I think everyone's input helped push me in the right direction so much thanks.

I was checking the sub closely with the playfield raised and decided to listen closer to where the beep was coming from and it was not any of the 3 speakers. That's when I noticed this little bugger on the wall:

The top Google search for "HQC 2000" is this Pinside thread:

That said it was a power/credit counter which fits perfectly with when I hear the beep (and those wires lead to the C220. The round thing in the lower left is the speaker and when I mushed my finger over it the sound was pretty muffled. My (reversible) hack solution? Stuff that hole with museum putty to push against the metal plate inside. No more beep!
