Hello!

Just a quick new feature announcement that may come in handy for the upcoming holiday season: busy/away messages!

This feature allows Pinsiders to up a message that displays their away status to other Pinsiders. You can do this in your My Pinside > Settings.

Simply set a message and a start and end date for the message to show.

The message then shows under any PinsideMail thread and on your profile page, during the selected time period:

That's all! Just a small addition that I hope you'll find useful!

Addendum:

A smart Pinsider pointed out to me that there are certain risks involved with vacation/out-of-office messages. It's probably smart to not let everyone know that you'll be out of town for two weeks leaving a house full of pinball machines to steal!

Even though busy/away messages only show to logged in Pinsiders, still, it's probably smart not to inform everyone that you are leaving town or give away any personal information (i.e. where you're going). The same goes for posting your holiday photos on social media, during your holiday (ugh!)

I have also updated the default away message to something very generic and pretty safe to use:

"I'm currently a bit slower than usual to reply to PM messages. I am reading my messages but there could be a delayed response. Thanks for your patience!"
