That crack on the "R" insert in particular is really disappointing. I feel for you. No way that should ever happen on such a new game as you mentioned in an area where the ball doesn't fall on it. I hope Stern makes this right for you. Please keep us updated.

Quoted from Manic:

Maybe not so odd. Initially seems well applied then the vibration of gameplay starts the lifting. OR maybe the inserts start moving a bit and it stresses the CC.

That is a very interesting observation. Ghosting seems to be particularly severe on GBLE and SMVE, games that both come with a shaker motor already installed. Do you think that is contributing to the problem? That may explain why the games look perfect out of the box but after a few days of playing the ghosting develops. Of course this shouldn't be the case in theory, as shaker motors have been around for a long time without this happening, but there doesn't seem to be as much ghosting on the GB Pro's without the shaker.

Quoted from vid1900:

Maple is not an **old growth** wood.
A maple lives maybe 60-80 years and that's it.
You never have to worry about running out of high quality maple in North America because the syrup industry plantations supply all the wood we need - just like it has for the last 200 years......

Thank you Vid for your knowledge. I just re-read all your posts on this thread regarding wood and ghosting and think you are probably right, as usual. Your advice to play the games, have fun, and don't concentrate too much on the flaws is sound and will definitely lead to more enjoyment of the hobby. I'm going to try and do that from now on!

Quoted from stoptap:

Spider-Man though has hardly any air balls, especially around the main inserts area.

Yes, there are very few airballs on SMVE. But It does come with a shaker.

Quoted from o-din:

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price:
Premium Model: $US 8,599
Limited Edition Model: $US 9,999
Super Limited Edition Model: $US 14,999

Are those prices real? $8599 list for a Premium?

Serious indeed. I guess I'll look back fondly on 2016 as a time when I could still get a Premium shipped to my home for $6700. Wow, that's a huge increase and out of my future price range.
