Quoted from Manic:

I'm not sure what would "make it right"...? A blank PF really doesn't so only a shipped populated PF would make it right.
I don't want to come off too cynical but I wonder what the odds are of this actually happening? Anybody else ever had a *populated* PF sent to them for a warranty issue?

I'm waiting on a vault, if my PF has cosmetic issues like this, an unpopulated fairly flawless PF sent to me would make it all good in my book.

Quoted from flashinstinct:

Considering that I am finalizing a restoration on a WCS 94 that had a counter at 102000 plays with no ghosting inserts i'd have to say "They don't make them like they use to"

It's weird, all those Metallica issues, then got pro insert issues now spider man yet the TWD and GOT premium I recently bought have excellent clear jobs, no ghosting.......a little crazing but no biggie. Can't explain it.

Quoted from mayuh:

Yeah, the solution is: burn it down!
Now the cab's decals start to peel of... Man. This is getting ridiculous.
Gotta cancel my GB premium order.

Well now the game is just unplayable

Quoted from Crash:

I would. That's just... beyond insane. When you called Stern have they offered to do anything for you?

Yeah, cancel your order because a sticker is peeling

Quoted from mayuh:

Come on. Don't depict me as I'm a crying little girl here. Thanks.
If you have read the tread you would know by now what's wrong with it. If you didn't, here's the summary:
Backbox lock not working
Front door lock not really working
Shaker only screwed into 3 captive nuts. Thus the forth came out of the cab and ruins it
Lamps fell out (I don't care)
Ghosting on all inserts except for 3 (yet I'm sure it will come)
Ghosting gets worse, even the machine is not played
Cab decals start to peel off
I paid a f*cking €8640 for it. That's a f*cking $9.723,63 on today's rate.
Yeah, I'm gonna cancel.

Yes, you definitely don't come off as a whiny girl

Edit-dab some adhesive in the edge of that decal and smooth it back down

Quoted from mayuh:

Actually I like it way more than the old one. Plays better, feels better, rules are more obvious. I like it. I want to have it. That's why I ordered it. YMMV see previous post for prices over here...
But on one thing I totally agree - it's unacceptable.

So your game is fully functional and you are completely enjoying it?

#227 7 years ago
Quoted from metallik:

Totally uncool dude. Throwing schoolyard insults at someone because he refuses to accept shit quality is rude.

He said it, I reiterated . Take your rude comment and shove it wherever you want.

He does indeed need and deserve a new PF, I would expect the same.

Quoted from mayuh:

Is this court?! Yes, it's working and I enjoy it.

Then enjoy it.

edit-I get it, the cosmetic issues are unfortunate, Im sure you and Stern+distributor can figure out something to make you even.

#230 7 years ago
Quoted from clg:

One thing you may not realise is that Stern distributors outside of the US can be a whole different beast to deal with. Many have a monopoly and that can lead to premium pricing and poor support as they know there is not much you can do about it.

True that, cant disagree.

Quoted from J85M:

Maybe you should have checked my previously owned games I've had 6 NIB Sterns

Selling TRON kinda ruins your Credibility......

#487 7 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

You may be right, but the guy I sold mine to didn't ask for a warranty.

Stop posting in this thread or its gonna get kicked to the basement.

Quoted from J85M:

as much as I loved my Tron & the franchise, my son is called Flynn. When there mum ran up a shit load of debt and left as a result, all my pins but one had to go. Roof above their heads was more important than daddy's gameroom
Within next couple of months I'll hopefully be rebuilding my collection and probably adding a TWD prem & ST prem to the lineup if all goes well

You could have lived in the TRON box.

#493 7 years ago
Quoted from J85M:

Everyone knows Tron box only has 1 bedroom I needed 3 rooms so the house was the choice
But I'll be getting a Tron again hopefully with a couple fresh additions.

That's a good move in all seriousness obviously, real life is important, these toys are not.

Quoted from Fytr:

You see, this perfectly illustrates the issue:
Picture of the kind of gradual, graceful clearcoat/playfield wear you would expect a pinball machine to exhibit after thousands of plays:

Picture of Stern's crap-tastic chippy playfield clearcoat after a few dozen plays:

That clear will chip off completely in no time if not covered with mylar immediately.
And it's happening on every non-flat surface on the table, drain hole, MET Mystery hole, etc.
Does anyone really still think there's not an issue here??

Scoops and Shooter lanes have always worn pretty quickly on Sterns, thats why a lot of us use mylar/Cliffy protectors before play 1.

Sand off the chipping clear and brush something over it, good to go.....

Quoted from greatwichjohn:

We had a similar Star Trek Pro lose most of the ink. They (Stern) replaced the playfield, but the local guys had to change it out themselves. Brutal!

Personally Id much rather do the swap myself if it came to that, how many months would you be waiting once you sent it out? Could be 3 month minimum from the few threads we've seen.

One could have that swap done within a weekend easy even if you aren't overly familiar with doing swaps. A more experienced person could probably do it in ~7-10~ hours no prob.

Quoted from Rob_G:

It took Stern 4 or 5 weeks to do my MET Premium playfield swap. That is from the time they received it to when it was shipped out. That was the warped playfield I had.
Rob

That's not too bad, thought yours took longer from memory.

I'll stand behind my thought of send me a minty PF, invite a buddy over for beers and quick swap work, fun stuff.
