This problem isn't just with Ghostbusters. If Stern attempts to remedy this issue with some machines and ignore others with identical findings, legal remedies will be sought. Count on it.
My ghosting inserts (SMVE) included some within the first few weeks of play. I also just had one develop in past few weeks (more than 3 months after receiving it). When are you in the clear? Nobody knows.
Discretion is the better part of valor. If it's not a limited edition, why not wait to purchase?
"Trust me, it's fixed" is being tossed around here about playfield issues. I'd take that with a healthy grain of salt.
