You have the rights to the best intellectual property in coin-op history. P2K was an incredible platform that would hold up even today. How about pushing the envelope and finishing Wizard Blocks? Tell me where to mail the check, I'm in.
All of the information exists right now to put together a Wizard Blocks kit. The CAD files, software and things exist in digital format. Obviously the variable here is demand. All of that is up to Rick, obviously.
Regarding the software, its really early and would have to be finished. The original Pinball 2000 system ran on a hardware 486 instruction set that is no longer used, and the hardware is no longer produced. The PRISM card, the ROMs that they used, the DCS hardware/ASICs are no longer produced either. Obviously there are emulation packages out there that can be licensed to pull off the original software. The original software only has one mode in it, though, and you'd get bored quickly.
I rewrote the software because I wanted to use modern tools and a modern framework, so I at first designed a whitewood using my own hardware system, and then the latest copy uses the P-ROC system. Its rock solid and allowed me to get things going quickly rather than worry about P2K driver board timing. The software runs on both hardware sets. The video portions are done in Unity3d, and the main game code is in .NET. The operating system is linux based and is the same technology I built for Multimorphic, Spooky Pinball, American Pinball, Valley Dynamo and Rowe International.
It'll be at TPF again this year, so come play it. Its hiding in a Star Wars Episode I cabinet as a tribute to the original donor game... which I happily hacked apart and gave to a better cause.
cant wait to play it at this years TPF, missed out on it last year
Thanks for bringing it!
Oh man Jimmy, you had me in the palm of your hand until this...
Quoted from Compy:

Can't deny it's a better cause, but for F' sake man, don't be happy about it!
