Just finished it up.I think it is a nice variation on the standard build.I had done one previously in black but just the trim.
Thanks to Matt at Back Alley Creations for the excellent service.

That black trim is bad ass.

#7 10 years ago

As usual very nice work Chris!

#9 10 years ago

Looks awesome and deserves to be set up steep and tough.

Quoted from smokedog:

Top notch Chris! Love the branding

Thank you.
I try to brand in locations that could be covered by normal tagging. For instance the playfield brand could be covered by the EOS decal and the floor brand could be covered by a Lenc Smith decal if you were trying to get a more original look in the future.

#16 10 years ago

That is ridiculous!

If I were to bring that home I'm not sure I'd be able to bring myself to play it. lol

Simply flawless. Wow.

#17 10 years ago

Wow.. excellent work! thanks alot for sharing photos we know how busy you are!

#18 10 years ago

Better than perfect, how is that possible?

#19 10 years ago

This black version is sweet. the B/W decal one someone posted not so much.

#20 10 years ago

Looks great. I'm surprised though that with the way you love to really match up the details that you didn't go with black and white flippers/rubbers.

#21 10 years ago

Love the awesome details in selecting blue and black gumballs!

#22 10 years ago

another happy customer I'm sure.

I wanted to and tried it .The black bats with white rubber looked great down low but the problem with TZ and some other games is that it uses the mini flipper. They only have yellow ones.Maybe white.
Rubber choice is limited as well to red and black so for that reason there is little choice.
Hopefully someone will do the mini flippers in different colors as well as the rubbers.

#24 10 years ago

looks amazing.

I would love it with black flips and white flip rubber

See, now that's the HEP we all love, I should have guessed.

Hmm, it wouldn't be that crazy to cast a new mini flipper in resin. Or maybe something like Krylon Fusion? I'd think paint would hold up well since the rubber is the only part that actually contacts anything.

The rubber might be the trickiest part.

#26 10 years ago

what about the guy that was milling flipper bats out of metal? polished nickel plated metal with white flips would POP!

#27 10 years ago

beautiful! I simply love the black!

Give me a minute i need to pick my jaw up off the ground

Sweet machine man!

Looks routed to hell.

Now THAT's how you do a third magnet!

Looks great Chris!

Speechless.

Looks great Chris!

Noted and that's how i'll do the next one.

Looks great chris as always. Makes me wish I had my new gameroom so I could get on the prowl and find another TZ. One of the games I miss the most. Probably because it was my first.

#33 10 years ago

Well I guess I won't be the only one with a blacked out HEP TZ, this guy has excellent taste. My guess is my project is not that far off from starting. I am for sure doing black wireforms, going to use a more mirrored black I think but that is just jaw dropping and tastefully done.

Nice work as usual Chris. I should be jealous but this is like a sneak preview of my future.

#34 10 years ago

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

#35 10 years ago

I could do that.

#36 10 years ago

I want it!!!!

#37 10 years ago

that is gorgeous! i would actually like to do one of my pins someday in that nickel black powdercoating (is that what its called)? looks great on the tz and on that mm you restored too.

#38 10 years ago

I think that black nickel would look good on the Stern Pros that come in black, like my Spiderman.

#39 10 years ago

Looks gorgeous. Have a question...who sells the mini PF mod to eliminate the large switches?

#40 10 years ago

The fact that I didn't notice the black apart from the lockbar at first shows how subtle this job was. I dislike most garish powdercoating but this all realy ties in nicely.

#41 10 years ago

...looks broken. get me a nice one.

#42 10 years ago

That TZ looks awesome murdered out! Fantastic work as usual Chris.

Todd

#43 10 years ago

That is just absolutely incredible!
Nice work Chris!

#44 10 years ago

Looks awesome, I have black mimi flipper rubber on mine but not sure where it came from. Also really like the blue clock housing. If you know where i could get blue clock housing please let me know.

#45 10 years ago

Absolutely friggin' gorgeous, Chris!! Doing my external hardware in black is already on my must do list, but now I have to consider the wireforms as well! Thanks a lot!

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but you probably should've gone with my custom TZ cards I made a while ago for that apron:

I think they're more in keeping with the blackout theme than those all white cards you've got in there!

I'm just messin' with ya! Again, beautiful TZ!!

My TZ has those, the previous owner put them in. They're great, thanks for doin it!

#47 10 years ago

My restored HS has all black gloss trim. Looks great.

You know, Chris, with the move and all, it probably would help if I popped down there and got this out of your way for a while...

Looks fantastic, but why have 3 x blue flipper rubbers and the small flipper has red

Your cards would look great on there.
I order and keep a stock of the style that is pictured on most of my games but I know they will often be changed out.
