Quoted from High_End_Pins:Grand Prix Head is built and placed on the lower.
I don't remember any game looking that good in 1976. Of course things were a bit fuzzy back then.
Quoted from ToucanF16:Curious to see the door solution...
EM parts wanted thread? Like a car body it can probably be welded and ground down, I presume.
I bet you've never seen any other pinball machines cabinet loaded to the hilt like a Grand Prix.
Quoted from mcbPalisade:If only you could transistorize all that..
No, half the EM experience is the feel of the game as all those relays are clicking and clacking.
A picture inside the backbox would be nice.
That's where a lot of the fun comes in when working on one of these.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Wish the lighting was better.
That's what I always say when working on these things.
Nice job! Lotta parts to clean. Lotta parts...

I'm looking forward to you restoring one and matching the colors on one like this.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:Got to get an early start on the holiday weekend. It won’t last long.

Nice. Charcoal is far superior to propane that I won't even use.
And an electric starter instead of fluid is the only way to fly.
Is that a Weber? It's kind of an interesting setup just the same.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Definitely.
It’s a pretty well traveled and seasoned Weber.
It used to have the electric start with a small propane starter but I killed that years ago.
I've still got and am still using the 18" Weber I bought when my daughter was born and now she is 25. Getting close to needing a new one but not yet.
Costco here sells what they call Kingsford Competition Briquets, and we have decided they are pretty useless as they burn up too fast, and use the standard Kingsford available elsewhere instead.
I just use one of these to start it with and keep a backup just in case. Can't leave it in too long once the coals get lit.

Yes, the new grills are not the same as they have changed the vent mech underneath so I am going to milk mine as long as I can. That electric starter costs about ten bucks and can usually be found at Home Depot or Lowes along with the best deal on Kingsford.
