I like the plainer shirt better. Plenty of black without it. The red stands out better and is less on the head in proportion.

Any news on the mirco Spirit pfs? Looking forward to those restorations. Of course I enjoy seeing all your work!

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

One of the many things that take much more effort on a 70’s and 80’s SS Bally is the coin door build.
This is just a sample of the many pieces it takes to assemble the door itself. There is more to it than that but this builds the basic door.

I'm doing a door now for my EK, same door. Having a problem keeping the coin return flap staying in place after screwing the inner panel to the outer door skin? Is the coin return flap held in place only from the outer panel and coin housing drop box where they meet?

Thinking my inner panel might be slightly bent. Looks like the outer door skin should sit flush against the coin drop box.

Figured you would know. Any help or advice would be great!

Ok thx! Will try that. Looks like you had your coin drop housing zinc plated. Looks nice! Wish more parts for these doors were available. Only found the outer skins and a few other small parts for them.

Thanks Chris!

How about chrome just for the coin entry and return plates? What color will the legs and rails be? If its stainless it wouldnt draw as much attention. I like the pinstripe on the blue door.

With Spirit 1 in the books I can now better tackle Spirit 2 and then 3 then 4
[quoted image]
Both 2 and 3 are incredibly rough.

Nice job and amazing work as always Chris! Is Spirit 1 mine? Your work and ethic are second to none. Well worth waiting for. Know system 80 Gottliebs are your least favorite working on next to ems. Thanks again!

Happy Birthday Chris! Hope you have a great day tomorrow. Looks like you will be ready for it.
Amazing the skills and work that goes into all your restorations. Also documenting in detail here for anyone to see and learn something. Blown away by the end result of all your restorations!

Quoted from dnaman:

Happy Birthday Chris!
Can you tell me if you have restored a 'sample' Spirit?
I have 01012 S (apparently the 12th of the 12 sample Spirits) and am curious to know if the Mirco playfield set is compatible? I am not sure what the difference was with the sample but the manual does state that it is 'for all Spirits without the S in the serial number'.
Thanks.

Chris is restoring my spirit which is a sample. The spirit pf's are the same. Owned a regular production Spirit which had an identical pf set.

The only differences I noticed was the S on the serial numbers on the cab lower and head along with the boards in the head.
