Chris, you ever use a glue syringe? I like them as you get the glue deeper down into the cracks.

#1429 10 months ago

Also, glad to see you got some Goose Island .... saves me from sending you a bottle this year

Quoted from j_m_:

this is a lie. chris has secretly kidnapped brian kelly

I know this is a lie as Chris can't drink the #$%$@$@ beer that Brian drinks thus he won't allow him in his shop nonetheless work with him!

(all in fun Brian .... except the part about the beer)

Quoted from Wmsfan:

Who do you use for your beer subscription? Looks like some nice varieties.

It's called the Pinsider Beer Club.

Chris, let me know how that Gulden Draak is. They made a Brewmasters one in whisky barrels that was really good. Never seen the Imperial Stout one (2018 release)!

Sooner or later your FedEx guy is going to find out he's nothing more than your "bootlegger".

Enjoy and remember the Thomas Hardy's Ale can be cellar-ed for up to 10 years!

#1794 9 months ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I definitely plan on hiding those Thomas Hardy’s from myself.

I have one that was stowed away for 50 years Here is a 1968 bottle next to the 50th Anniversary bottle!
Alright now that I derailed your thread and annoyed all you PAID subscribers .... get back to HEP-ing

HEP BLOWOUT Garage SALE Today only .....or until stuff is gone!

#2173 9 months ago
Quoted from cavalier88z24:

you could have the best garage sale EVER!

Doubt that as instead of receiving low ball offers via text HEP would just have a lot of people at his garage telling him why all his stuff is not worth anything. Think about it ..... when is the last time anyone has sold anything to someone for the asking price? Let me further elaborate.... when is the last time someone has sold something to a buyer that hasn't tried to get it a lot cheaper. As I always say .... you can put a 100$ bill for sale on Craigslist and the vast majority of people are going to tell you its not worth 100$.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I feel terrible just tossing it but at the same time it just isn’t even worth packing and shipping the stuff for these offers seriously

Completely understand your position as I hate throwing stuff away but in the same sense by the time you list, deal and ship an item most times the amount of time spent is typically not worth it for the $ you make. Just a few suggestions .....

1. Find someone (a single person) that is an avid seller that would be willing to buy all of your "leftover" stuff in bulk. This way you can take everything and get rid of it at one time. I don't think it would be hard for you to find someone to take this on as the stuff you're dealing looks good!
2. Just a thought.....see if your older son would want to take on selling the stuff. Set him up with a Pinside and PayPal (Venmo etc) account and tell him everything he sells he keeps the money.

Again ... just suggestions as in no way am I pushing my thoughts. Just would be a shame to see this stuffed tossed.

#2614 8 months ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I know VA,PA and few others don’t allow it. Good work around is to find a Pinsider and do beer trades.

Actually it’s illegal to ship beer in all of the US. The Post Office has been looking into making it legal but they have yet to make this happen. You can obtain a license that will allow you to ship alcohol in the US but for the average person you’re not going to do this.

If you ship beer, your best bet is to use FedEx as they’re not as strict as USPS or UPS. However, if they find you shipping beer they will send you a letter advising you that it’s not legal to do so and if you continue to do so your package can be confiscated.

USPS scans their packages so it’s hard to ship through them. If they find you’re shipping beer they confiscate it with no warning.

So in short, use FedEx and if they ask what’s in the package tell them Olive Oil.

Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcast of HEP

Chris how nervous do you get when the game gets turned over to the shipper? I would hate to let some of these guys handle a game I had restored by HEP.

I was going to ask what was the worse shipping story he had! As many games as he has shipped there has to be some stories of damage!

Quoted from mikecav:

This claim about pizza surprises me. I've never heard that before... I'm a NJ guy but went to school in Hartford and the pizza was brutal... and they cut a round pie like a Sicilian?? Maybe you're southern CT?
IMO, take a map and put a pin in midtown Manhattan. Draw a 20-30 mile circle around the pin. Eat pizza within that circle, don't eat it outside the circle.
Same goes for bagels.

Agree, I lived in Guilford and Milford, CT and the pizza was tasteless. Also, not sure about the claim on best seafood either as AK was great for seafood. Not that NE is bad in anyway .... just guess it all depends on what you're eating!

#3673 4 months ago

Chris you ever try the AK Halibut? I always called it the white steak!

Yeah right I mean the next thing you know Chris will be drinking crappy beer like Bryan! !

#4511 59 days ago

I see it came with the Beer cup holder!

#4630 53 days ago

Chris on a somber note ..... this year is the last year Founders is making CBS

#4639 53 days ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

This is unfortunate.
I wonder how much of it has to to with them no longer being able to put the Royal Mounty on the label?

Quoted from yancy:

My guess is the very limited supply of maple syrup bourbon barrels. They probably want to try aging other brews.

I think it might be nothing more then to get the demand back up for it. On the West Coast I can go into most bottle shops and find bottles of 2016, 2017 and 2018. With 2019 coming out you're not going to get a lot of the shops purchasing it while they still have inventory on the shelves from past years.

This year we also are seeing Firestone Walker announcing that their biggest seller Stickee Monkee is going on hiatus as well. I see the same thing with this beer as well. I actually just purchased a vertical (2014-2018) from one bottle shop.

By announcing that these aren't going to be made you'll have people stocking up on it, buying the existing inventory. Take a year or two off the old inventory is bought up and once you start production again it will be big news.

Of course this is my thinking which is worth less then a bottle of CBS.

With that said .... I am off to buy bottles of CBS and Stickee I now return you to HEPtV
