Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I am going to guess a guard to keep the ball from getting in there

This. They didn't care about plastics sagging back then. Use the game 2 or 3 years, junk and replace.

Quoted from robotron911:

So, these assemblies are bright and shiny. Are they new replacements or are you polishing the metal assemblies on a wheel?

Read through his threads. They are nickle plated. Has spares made up ahead of time and swaps with parts needing work next.

#466 1 year ago
Quoted from twinmice:

Anyone know what kind of see through making tape is used when the playfields are touched and cleared?

Read back through the threads. Frisket.

I get asked about this pastiche often.
These come in most plastic sets.

In case you wonder what the Addams Family moto on the sign means.

Quoted from yancy:

Why are gear boxes packed full of grease instead of lubed with something like liquid teflon?

Was liquid teflon available 26 years ago ?

Not to mention nothing changes on those gear boxes in 75 + years. They were supposed to last a few years and the whole game junked and replaced with a new game. They weren't building for collectors years later. It is amazing they last as long as they do.

I can understand some of it but that risk factor thing and the good verses the bad always confuses me.

Looks like you are in spec on all the numbers.

I'd increase the junk food consumption.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

My goal is always to try not to build the exact same game twice.

Watching your restored games for quite some time. You do seem to have strayed from an exact restoration to a more artistic one. I realize at lot is on the customer. I really like the direction you are traveling.

You have truly made it an art form.

Quoted from roar:

Curious to know when you get samples/prototypes in the shop do you dump the rom's and send them off to ipdb on the off chance they may be something not seen in the wild before?

Wouldn't that be up to the owner of the game, and not Chris ?

LTG : )

#2091 1 year ago
Quoted from roar:

I don’t think it’s up to either

If the owner spent huge money on a rare item. He may or may not want parts of it shared for all to have.

I would hope the owner would. And understand if the owner didn't.

When I had the Pinball Circus machine here in 2006, I could have copied all the ROMs. I didn't. Wasn't my game. I didn't even ask if I could. None of my concern. I would have liked to seen them shared, but that wouldn't be up to me.

Forget the handle. The bottom, clean all the rust off. Melt parafin wax on it, rub in real good.

Sealed service bag. Pretty cool never seen one from this era.

This one is from right after they quit putting the wood stick bulb remover in the goodie bag. Ops got pissed and quit buying games over it. So Bally started putting the parts in again. Wood stick and black rubber tube. But quit paying someone to assemble it. Ops got their free thing again and life went on. Yours is a later unassembled one.
