Me too, I am waiting on my F-14 to get back and crazy scared to be putting it under a old one, with nothing in between. But hey, if one of the best restore guys does it.
So do you work out because you drink beer.
Or, so you can drink beer?
Wife's on my butt saying that my new year's res is to go on a diet! She says she misses my old military bod
Only thing is, is that it was not my choice. The military does not give you a choice
I like aspects of both Whirlwinds. But great job as always!
Quoted from Gornkleschnitzer:ergonomic corners
Who cares about ergonomically correct corners
Did tons of pyramids in the military. Some of the best work out regimens. Also we did one day burn outs a week. Where you work lowest start weight in pyramids and do as many reps as possible with 2 minute intervals, 3 reps.
My wife really misses my military bod as she calls it!!
Been there with the whole owner thing. My father and I did a lot of professional car painting and seen upset people. I have also seen people very pleased.
I grew tired of the nit pickers and haters! So i choose to be done with it.
I enjoy doing restorations for myself and will never do a pin for anyone, while I will do them and sell them so I can help keep the pins alive! As a hobby!!!
I love all the info I pick up on threads like this as it's helping me to learn. Thanks HEP, and you do great work!!
Yeah, HEP when you gonna start a HEP nutrition thread!
It's like Days of HEP! Soap opera for the pin head!
I think Bryan_Kelly is just upset that it's not a IPA!
Although I do agree on his taste of Spotted Cow!!
Love how you use old mixing cups to put nuts and bolts in, been doing that forever. Something my dad started doing a long time ago.
Also some sad news from my neck of the woods. Our paint store is gone
My dad went there before I was even born, and used to take me there all the time when I was little. I will never forget the smell of a auto paint store! And I think the smell of bondo will always be my favorite! Just thought I would share.
Great job as always HEP!
You can really tell the difference from manufacturing ground braid and do it yourself. Always looks cleaner and squared away!
We draw the blinds to play naked pinball!!
Oh, and went with a set of Reese rails for my F-14 thanks for the tip on that one!!!
Awesome! Now I can get the tips from the HEP as I am in the middle of restoring F-14 and is my first restore.
SHAME, That kettle ball has rust on it!!
We do need to have a talk though about what vacation is, and all that work out equipment you are bringing!
Great job on being a Awesome dad!!!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:auto body industry
I can't tell you how many times I had rainbow colored boogers! That was back in the early 90's when my dad was teaching me how to paint cars. By the way what is a respirator anyway
Wife started us on a gym membership yesterday! Guess I will be following in your footsteps! Now on to that F-14 so I can get some tips for when I get my PF back from clear coating!!
What about a coat of that epoxy flooring? Lays flat, easier to squeegee then tile. I don't know about adhering to flooring though.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Curtis keeps working at it
Awesome! Keep up the great work, and remember, Pain is weakness leaving the body!!
Very glad to hear the beer is ok! I would argue the choice on trimmer but to each his own. I am a huge stihl fan and always had good luck with them. Plus I am in good with the mechanic at the shop so that helps too. 2 chainsaws and a weed eater running like champs!
I agree on glossing up the ramp! Will stand out more!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:I water sanded for hours with a paint paddle wrapped in sand paper.
I am having flashbacks now! Good ol bucket of water, block of wood and hrs of elbow work!
Quoted from j_m_:are you attempting to out old man brYan kelly
Somebody is always trying to bring poor ol man BK into it
That Centaur is going to Crazy Awesome!!!
Quoted from djb_rh:Benny Hill.
Hahahahaha! Benny Hill, should have thought of that one!
Hey Chris, Have you ever cleared over decals and if you don't mind sharing, What brand of clear are you using?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Might require a creative paint pattern on the transformer stand off.
I did this with my F-14.

My first restore so don't critique me too much
MMMMMMMMM, Dragon's milk is yummy!!!!
Quoted from PinMonk:Just makes me think Larry Blackmon
Annnnnnnd NO!!!!!!
Your the man! Never thought about putting a rattle can in a shaker before! LOL That's just awesome!! Coming from a fellow autobody man
That is super sharp! Love spirit one of the funner pins to play.
Quoted from littlecammi:Now that's ONE nice looking game. (Implies it's the only HEP Spirit restore that looks really good.)
I would go with this one!
littlecammi might be a retired english lit proffersor!
Never sprayed with a sata always heard good things but not to cheap. Been running devilbiss for a long while. and some cheap harbor freight ones.
You are making me want to paint something just to get that smell again! Fresh paint and rainbow colored buggers!
Have you given thought to curbing the edge in. So you have a nice distinctive line between grass and mulch? Would also help with mowing but creates a little more weed eating.
My small project right now
Each block is 82 pounds and all rock is brought down in buckets. Had to do myself, every one I called wanted 40 G's just to start!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:How long will it take you?
I planned for 3yrs with weather. But we started in September so it is coming along well. Still have the second tier to do which will go the full length of yard, 60 feet. This will give me 10 ft out from house and roughly 60’ in length of flat yard. Doing the first run of block takes the longest as they have to be perfectly level!
Hoping to be done by next summer!!!
All so he can have a bigger back yard!
Such great work!! I love paint and seeing some of the cool work people can do with paint! I hope to one day restore one at a time and just for fun to keep them alive. Wish I could do it with cars but I think the wife would not like that idea!
Great thing about this thread is HEP quality! So you know where to get the best parts for your pins and some great tips on wiring, sanding, painting ect ect ect!!
Quick question I know it in here somewhere but, how do you prep for the t nuts on the pf again. I remember you had a good trick/tip for doing those?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Paint suit, fresh filtered high rate air exchange and a 3M 07178 dual cartridge respirator.
Much safer and better for your body! Although I do miss the rainbow colored boogars from back in the day!
Excited for F-14, since my pf will be returning soon. I will be following your steps.
Was the pf you cc dimpled?
I wanna see a run of those flight carriers with the HEP branding on them for sell!! Since I can't afford your restoration at least I could have a little bit of HEP!
Thanks for reminding me that I need a new die grinder! Even though the wife says I have enough tools, My reply is that I can never have enough tools!!
And as always, Great job!!
Awesome job! Can confirm bunny season in full effect! 3 nests in my back yard under deck. My dog will be going bonkers when they start hopping all about!
Once again, I was on hiatus only to come back to being behind on one of the greatest info threads! Always good to see that HEP will never disappoint!
Just wondering if 6 yrs is to long for restoring a pinball machine It has taken so long that my F-14 has turned into a F-35
