Excited to see TSPP, too. Have you done one of those before?

Quoted from firefighter:

I just bought a ebd that has a protector on it and the ball does skip over the roll over. I even trimmed a couple inches off below the roll over and still misses it. I’ll trim a couple more and see what happens.

I was wondering why there was such a large gap. Makes sense!

I'll be the first to vote #3 lol.

Quoted from yancy:

It's only April 3rd and you got more shit done than I will all month.

In your defense, you live in the shitty weather of Chicago and it looks like it's been pretty nice in NC. On the other hand, he's gotten more done than I will all summer.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Time to set up the BSD base game.
This game looks like a turd even without unpacking I see numerous signs of problems.
It was said to have been restored.
We covered the issues with the bottom earlier. [quoted image]
It has black powdered coated trim too bad it is the wrong lock bar.
[quoted image]
Always a bad sign when they come with parts and instructions from the “restorer”[quoted image][quoted image]
Apparently installing this in the Fliptronic 2 board will stop the game from doing stupid ball searches when you boot it up. [quoted image]
Not sure about that but if it were true why wasn’t it installed? Certainly easier than installing decals and having trim powder coated
I am excited to see what we are dealing with here.

Would love to know if true! Mine does the stupid ball search when I boot it. Lol

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

This is about as far as I need to teardown this bracket for nickel plating.
I could really dissect it but the main purpose of doing this is appearance and future corrosion protection so I would rather no risk damaging the threads for a slightly more thorough job knowing the location and purpose of the part.

How does that work if you ever need to remove one of the screwed on parts in the future? Does the plating essentially fuse all those pieces together?

Oh man. Can you do Mystic next?!

Believe it or not, if I had the opportunity, that's what I would send you.

#9468 2 years ago

Oo baby, Mystic finally starting.

Happy father's day to you and Curtis! And all the other dads in here!

#9481 2 years ago

And just like that Mystic looks done. . If that's the starter playfield it looks good from that angle. Colors on the shooter gauge sure look original.

#9505 2 years ago

That Mystic playfield color is so disappointing. Glad you're fixing it but most other people that get the replacement won't be able to.

#9508 2 years ago

I think they used a sun-faded playfield to color match. Like mine.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Mystic cabinet is coming together.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Because I'm a dork, if I ever had you do a game like Mystic, I'd ask if you could pound the serial number into the cab like the factory did. Is that something you've ever done/could do?

#9631 2 years ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Thanks I tried pretty much everything else.
Started building up the underside.
When I did the Red Centaur I realized how good the gameplay felt with the modernization and how easy it was to dial in. Now when I am doing these I can’t see doing it any other way unless told not to of course. I know there are some purist out there. I can deal with the traditional builds just fine but outside of that getting rid of the leaf blade switches and linear slingshots really tightens things up and is less prone to needed extra attention later. [quoted image][quoted image]

Most importantly upgrading the linear flippers!

Service rails on a Bally? *Chef's kiss*

#9717 2 years ago

Beautiful. Such a good choice to fix the blue on the playfield.

Do you keep a big bin for all the coils and wire you pull out of games? Gotta be a good amount of copper to recycle after a few games.

#11987 1 year ago

Great new video. You looked very confused by that cup holder. Lol.

Seriously, why would you replace both ends of a power cord???

Quoted from cp1610:

Once again Chris does anther hep project over the weekend while the rest drank and slacked and worried about beads. This guy makes us all look bad again. Nice job again i hope you skipped some of your workout seeing this was why more of a work out. I didn't see Maverick supervising like every project. I hope maverick was pulling the air compressor with his teeth on the tug rope tied to it.

All of this.

I think people are getting off on challenging you at this point. Find the cheapest version they can and let Chris do the rest!

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

That looks cool.
I am an in house type of guy for the most part.
Even if it’s a set back to deal with I can handle it.
My real issue is these are not good paying jobs from a business/survival standpoint.
They are losers in that regard.
People always think they cost too much and I always wish I would have said no.
That’s a sure sign they were priced right Lol!!
Here’s todays progress. Much more to come.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Impressive with all the fine detail in the skin tone. I was afraid he was going to lose a nipple.

I'm really surprised how many colors you can put down in one day. How long do you have to let a color dry before masking over it again for another color?

3 weeks later
#14283 31 days ago

Stainless.

They're too little and too sparse for the black screws to do much pulling together IMO.

#14300 31 days ago

That coin door looks like trash.

Just kidding, it looks bad ass! Well done.

#14332 29 days ago

Everyone needs to send more Gottlieb projects to Chris. That's when the quality rants come out. Made my evening. Lol.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

That was a fun video. I enjoyed making it and saying everything I have thought and wanted to say for years about those mods.
That said I am shutting my TZ series down and going on hiatus there.
Some of the comments were just as annoying as the mods and I realized that I would be raising hell and arguing with people on there the whole way through it.
Not the best use of my time and resources so I will just pick a better project to focus on there in the near future.
To be clear it’s not them bothering me it’s me trying to be practical. I know how these things play out and the time that can be wasted on it.

Now I'm sad I missed the comments. Could've used another laugh.

#14457 20 days ago

Looking forward to that! Hope you have enough action figures!

#14503 17 days ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Yeah smart man. Doesn’t matter what you do it’s the people that can wear you out sometimes.
Like everything else 95 percent are great but that other 5 …………
TZ reboot rant reel

We really need a chef's kiss emoji on here.
Dear commenters, If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, right??

#14512 17 days ago

The cussing in the videos kills me because it's so unusual. It just shows how passionate you are. Even though I may not agree with everything you say, you have solid reasons for everything and that's all that matters. Also, when did it become wrong to have different opinions? That's why they're opinions!
