Quoted from Pickle:

Seems we have some skaters following the Radical....trivia for ya, 3 of the 5 “Bones Brigade” have been named. Name the other 2.

Even back then, there were a bunch more than 5 members of the Bones Brigade. I'm stoked to see all the skateboarding pin fans out here!!! If any of you consider yourselves one of them, check out this thread: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/any-pinsiders-still-skate-skateboard

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Makes me feel a little better about opening this one[quoted image]

That’s a good one! Now if we could get the temps out of the 90’s in the Carolinas and enjoy some fall dark beer weather.

Well, that doesn't suck!

Congrats on a job well done!!!

So cool, hopeful to have you add those fabricated parts and perform your HEP magic on my Radical one day.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I was sent a new CPR backglass to install.
The channels were really tight and the art does not really extend far as it should towards the edges but I made it all work.
The mirroring is nice and the art is durable so maybe just a small tweak in the sizing or process would help.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

That looks spectacular Chris! Are you saying you were able to use the latest ROMS even with adding back in features that never made it to mass production?
Also, I've been considering the CPR back glass for my Radical, World Cup, and F-14 Tomcat. Are the fitting tweaks you mentioned easy for a novice?

Quoted from YZRider926:

Does the wheel spin?

I made a wheel shooter rod for my Radical and it does spin. It was a pain to get it just right, but worth the effort.

Radical is folded up

Now fully blanketed and back at the warehouse.[quoted image][quoted image]

That beats the heck out of any pinball box I’ve ever seen. Hopefully the owner will allow you to post a pick of the HEP Radical in their line up.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

New arrival at the warehouse.
I have done everything I could to avoid taking this in but it is for a really nice older couple that is local.
They have been asking me for over a year so I caved in.
No telling when it will filter in but it’s here.[quoted image]

Do you have an estimate of the pre-HEP value of this thing?

Non-Pinball Question - What model of Concept Rowing Machine do you own? Would you recommend it? Thanks!

Quoted from mbeardsley:

When you finish one of your projects (like the recent IJ machines), how much of the original machine is actually part of the final result?
It seems like by the time you build a new cabinet, install a new playfield, re-do all the wiring, and replace lots of the other parts, there isn't much of the "old" machine left.
To paraphrase Plato, "if you replace the handle of an axe, and then replace the head of the axe, is it still the same axe?"
And if so, suppose you then take the old axe head and attach it to the old handle, do you now have two of the same axe?
I guess a related question would be "how complete does the old machine need to be for you to be able to restore it?"
If you are going to use a new cabinet and playfield anyway, can you start with just a big bag of boards/parts?

Man, that’s some deep...

Quoted from dmieczko:

Stunning work! But I still hate that single slot coin door...

I'm curious....I've never given single vs double vs triple coin slots much thought. I've also never entered more than one coin at a time. Does anyone know why the majority are double? Is it for the aesthetic? Or, is it just in case one coin slot malfunctions? Some other reason?

Everybody has an opinion....that is a spectacularly and beautifully restored to exacting specifications ugly pinball machine. I love Radical and plenty hate it and that’s ok. What I sincerely appreciate is that Cyclops means something to someone to the point they would give it the HEP treatment. Congrats to the owner. I know you will enjoy it!!!
