Wow Chris, great work as always.

I had no idea paint was that expensive. How much volume of material is that and how many machines would you expect to get out it.

BTW, whose brilliant idea was it to have "Dryuary"...bleh I'm having a beer now.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

That is enough to paint two cabinets and clear them.
That was just the paint portion though so previous to that there was filler and primer needed and used along with sandpaper, masking tape and masking paper.
It cost about $800 in paint and materials to do one stenciled cabinet using these paints, clears and methods. Not including the cost of the stencils.
That stated there is no way to get this type of final finish any other way.

Wow Chris. I had no idea. I know you use the highest quality materials but never would have guessed the extent of the cost. The finished product reflects the time and expertise you put into it, but I guess without the highest quality components all that expertise would be wasted or diminished.

Chris, why go through the trouble of making a new harness for the EBD door. Was the old one pretty jacked up?

Dave

#2037 5 years ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I like to use new wire because often especially on coin doors the original wires can have internal breaks.
Also it gives the ability to delete things no longer needed like coin lock out slam tilt individually wired coin switches.
Not to say I could not implement all those things but the more unnecessary things eliminated the cleaner the wiring and fewer possible issues or confusion to less knowledgeable.
Finally I can use clear tubing to avoid shorts, shrink tubing and extend the harness for neater routing.

Sure Chris.

Makes sense to eliminate some of the unnecessary circuits and also to prevent future issues by weak or frayed internal wiring that isn't visible on inspection.

Chris as a fellow beer aficionado all I can say is WTF?

I like it for boiling lobsters but not to drink.
I do think the Stipe Miocic commercials are cool so I picked that over Budweiser. Hope he gets a chance to get his belt back.

Ok. That will work.

Nice beer choices tonight Chris. I am into beer two for the evening but won’t go to three as that would cause me to overpay for things.

I am finding out here on the west coast two interesting phenomena. If I really want something interesting I need to buy a 22 but there are a lot of great day to day drinkable beers in cans now..whoda thunk it.

Looks good.
I try to pick themes for my beer choices of the day.
It can be random or inspired by the strangest things.
I hadn’t heard from Bryan in what seemed like quite a while. As soon as I saw him pop in I knew what the beer of the day should be and put it in the fridge.
It’s ready [quoted image]

Nice. Can’t tell if that a compliment or insult.

Interesting beer choice, Chris. I love a good chocolate stout.

Dave

Damn Chris. Those are little details that are so integral to the quality of your work and completely unnoticeable to everyone.

It reminds that the true mark of a craftsmen is attention to detail that nobody will ever see.

BTW if you are ever in Ashville for the pinball museum or any other reason and want to grab a beer check out these guys and tell them I sent you. They have a great selection and are very cool.

Took this much water to dilute it. The entire liter. [quoted image]
My stomach will be sloshing as I clear the rails no doubt.

Adding the frog to your masking work will definitely make for an interesting final product

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

It is true.
My wife and I have been together since we were in our mid teens.
She is the true definition of a homemaker.
Very rare these days.
She takes care of us I take care of everything else. Everything we do here is old school. It is a way of life from the work to the woman

That’s a beautiful thing Chris. Been married for nearly 30 years here and understand the connection and bond.

T nuts installed without issue.
[quoted image]

Chris,

Do you pull the t-nuts into place with some kind of screw device from the top or bang them in?

I have a teen in drivers training. Will have to look up those videos on amazon!

I feel I feel your pain. My 16 year old takes her drivers test in March and we have been on the road together for the last few months. My 18 year old got her license last year and I had about 35 hours with her

Dave

#2968 5 years ago

Damn Chris... you are a regular professional carpenter, too , on top of everything else.

Dave

#2970 5 years ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I can’t take too much credit for that. My first job at 16 was a carpenter’s helper 30 years later I am still just that but the old timer and I are getting it done.
The guy that helps me on these projects is about 76 or so and I just hope that in 30 more years I will be as sharp and active.
This is our fourth build together in 15 years.
Seeing a guy his age cutting wood climbing ladders and talking shit is inspiring.
Sometimes the cuts are rough and the nail gun accuracy is questionable but nothing I don’t spot or correct and it gets done plus it is a good time.

Excellent Chris. We all spend a lifetime learning stuff..

Every time I see your posts I try to learn things about techniques etc... when people post about repairs they make, even on games I don't have I read to learn.

Even so, I am going to guess you are a much better carpenter then you give yourself credit for.
