Another great trick revealed! How does it look back lit since it is blue over orange?

I am going to check them with a blue LED.
I know they look really nice with the white button in them so that is a good start.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I don’t do well with scanning, printing, photoshopping or any of that type of thing. It’s just something that doesn’t compute for me.
I have a really nice thermal label maker that collects dust because I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to print any legible size or direction

Just a picture of each label laid flat next to a mm ruler and the phone camera dead-on over the label (so there's no perspective distortion) would do in a pinch. That way the size and art would be documented and a vector version that's very close to an original could be made if needed.

#4609 4 years ago

BSD head is screened and the cabinet is prepped for decals.

Before I decal the BSD or set up the base game I will go over the bottom.
The base game was sold as “restored”
New cabinet art etc.
Horrible. One glance and I know “needs cabinet”

The reason this is so important is because most games are shipped upright even NIB and the underside of the cabinet is usually the first impression.
This gives a much better one
It doesn’t say “Hey I have been under water and I am packed full of Bondo!!”
Instead it’s says.”I am nice and new”

Quoted from GCS2000:

Just curiosity question ... how many times have you been doing this kind of work and got completely stumped on how to repair something or put it back together. And I mean really stumped like had to back off take a day or 2 and come back and deal with it. I know you always get it done no matter what but as I marvel at the details of what you do I cannot help but think how many times I would have just lost it and abandon all hope of getting something back together/fixed. Clearly its why I don't do this kind of work.

The only thing that ever truly stumped me for a good while was the Krull restoration
At the very end of it the game seemed to work all except a single pop bumper.
I can’t even remember all the things I tried but it never worked when it should. Weeks later when fishing around I found two identical connectors in the neck of the game fairly hidden.
They were completely identical and not labeled. But there was just one difference between them !
One of them had like 8 of the Pins populated the other 9. I had them reversed!!!!!
That was why the pop wouldn’t work. It was the 9th pin in the 8 pin populated connector.
I have never been both so relieved and so disgusted all at the same time in my life.

I actually picked this one up locally about maybe 2 or 3 months ago. It’s been on my schedule for a little bit longer but this was actually sitting in a very nice home as it is.

This is something that never ceases to amaze me how these people will buy all this nice furniture and stuff and yet at the same time throw something like this in the very same room.

That Scared Stiff must’ve came from the same place my old NBA Fastbreak came from.
It had the same side drilled hole for a lock and the extra playfield hook retainers.

Easy answer on this one.

I bought a Johnny Mnemonic from a local guy.
When I got there he and his wife were frantically looking for the keys to the game. They were in a complete uproar.

The minute I handed them the cash the husband said to her”Go Go. Go! Cedric is waiting !!!The wife bolted right out the door.

He finally gave up on the keys and just started dragging the game towards the front door killing his hardwood floor every inch of the way.

We loaded it up and left.

When I got it to the shop I drilled the lock and right inside the door......?

Crack and a crack pipe.

The bizarre episode then made total sense.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

My guess is the very limited supply of maple syrup bourbon barrels. They probably want to try aging other brews. Nothing in the article says CBS is gone forever. It took a six year hiatus before; it'll be back. Incidentally, my favorite beer of all time was aged in those same barrels: Founders 2009 Nemesis, 12% ABV wheatwine. It was truly the nectar of the gods.

I agree. When it comes to Oktoberfest. Sierra Nevada and Spaten are usually a pretty good place to start.

Of course I had desert too. Another reliable combo.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

This is unfortunate.
I wonder how much of it has to to with them no longer being able to put the Royal Mounty on the label?

Quoted from yancy:

My guess is the very limited supply of maple syrup bourbon barrels. They probably want to try aging other brews.

I think it might be nothing more then to get the demand back up for it. On the West Coast I can go into most bottle shops and find bottles of 2016, 2017 and 2018. With 2019 coming out you're not going to get a lot of the shops purchasing it while they still have inventory on the shelves from past years.

This year we also are seeing Firestone Walker announcing that their biggest seller Stickee Monkee is going on hiatus as well. I see the same thing with this beer as well. I actually just purchased a vertical (2014-2018) from one bottle shop.

By announcing that these aren't going to be made you'll have people stocking up on it, buying the existing inventory. Take a year or two off the old inventory is bought up and once you start production again it will be big news.

Of course this is my thinking which is worth less then a bottle of CBS.

With that said .... I am off to buy bottles of CBS and Stickee I now return you to HEPtV

Get the big plastic tub with the lid. Very helpful. I dont love doing it in a giant pot. Sous vide is great. Shrimps....perfect....steaks....red as hell and no worries, if you like it that way.

Quoted from LTG:

To hook bungee cords to bottom of playfield to keep it upright.
LTG : )

Great insight. That helps explain this as well.

You won't regret going sous vide for steaks (or beef ribs or seafood). If you like rare to med rare then try a big 2" thick fillet at 54C (129F) for 2 hours with a little olive oil salt and pepper and a crushed clove of garlic in the bag. Some thyme is good too.
Sear and serve to your friends and watch them tell you it's the best steak they have ever eaten.

I use a 20l (6 US gallon) drink esky with a hole in the lid for the Anova to sit; I can do up to 10 kilos (20Lb) of beef ribs at a time (36 hours @ 154F)
