Beautiful work! One of the best thread on Pinside with gameroom pics!
Do you ever row 2k test or just train routinely?

Thanks.
I just use the rower as another piece of my fitness puzzle.
It is a great tool for so many different things.
Good warm up on lifting days, good interval on HIIT ,good active rest and recovery between sets and much more.
If I could only have one piece of equipment it would be really tough to choose between the rower and a 50lb kettle bell.
I am typically 500 meter interval guy with the damper set at 8 and always consider 1:45 a decent time and anything below 2:00 acceptable depending on the other things I am doing in that set of exercises.
Sometimes I will do the countdown where you row 2000,1500,1000,500 and use the 3 minutes rest to do other things like bench press,kB swings etc.
What do you do with the old cabs? Just depleted my fun fund but in the future If you would sell/ship one I’d like to find a WW cab that doesnt have a hole in the side of it from a forklift.
This thread is awesome btw. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship is inspiring. Not just with pinball related stuff either.
Yes, I hope HEP has a cabinet sale again one day liked a few years ago when they moved to the new shop!

he used to offer them up to people from time to time... but ultimately found the process more hassle than gain and now he trashes them. I still hope some of the better ones still find their way out of the dumpster

If I have a truly decent cabinet left over I usually try to find a good home for it.
Other than that I toss them because a used cabinet takes up as much room as an entire game.
If there were someone in the area that would quickly come get them I would gladly give them away though.
Oldest son Curtis and I are off to the barber shop.
He looks a bit like Action Bronson these days. Hard to believe he will be 21 in about three weeks

Good old Matthews Barber shop
Interesting thing about this is our barber and I used to work together at the auto body shop. He went on to open his barber shop and I went on to do this.
We always talk about that. He is trying to tame Curtis’ beard. BEF898ED-4E42-45AB-89F5-0A49E840189D (resized).jpeg
Here Curtis and I are in the early days. This picture is probably 16 years old or so. Pictures like this always put it into perspective for me how much time I have put into this. Where it started and honestly how much and at the same time how little it has changed over the years.

Back to work.
The TAFTC is up and running.
I was relieved to verify there weren’t any catches on the backend.
Something that is a concern on games like this would be if there is something wrong with the transformer or some other strange thing that would have made it more obvious why they started parting the game out.
In this case I think they just got their money’s worth out of it.

I can now start placing the rubber and plastics.
Your eldest looks like he might be amish.
Those TAFTC bumper caps are a bit much.
Great superb work, love this thread.
Have you been restoring for 16 yrs?

He is not pure enough to be Amish trust me but he has a good time
The thing about TAF bumpers is that they only light occasionally/individually and it is a dark area so I like to make a little go a long way for that.
Thanks I have been restoring now for coming up on 18 years.
Super nice work! Looks awesome with all the black. So curious to know if the powder coat will last.
Think of doing it on my Indiana.
Let us know
Quoted from Aniraf:Hey Chris, I was trying to copy your work (hope you don’t mind) and add molex connectors to the Pinbot I’m working on. What size connectors do you use? It almost seems like the side of the solenoid with the dual cables needs a .084 whereas the single wire side needs a .062.
In general I use .093 for solenoids
.062 for switches and lamps.
Used topper was frosted purple from the inside. This was a small gamble since it was a used topper and new can be bought if needed.
New decals installed.

It is done this way to tie it in with the inside art and Addams lettering on the side and front.

What I really like about it is how it works when lit.
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpgWow, the black, purple, and the pop bumpers set up like that came together awesome! Looks fantastic as always. Even the details of the cabinet wiring is so tidy.
Someone will have a very happy New Yeat!

My goal is always to try not to build the exact same game twice. On TAF that gets tough because I have done many but this one really did fall together pretty nicely.
I had initially used different decals for the bookcase and thing box, different caps, flipper rubber and more but as it came together I would start dialing the scheme in and it was fun.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:My goal is always to try not to build the exact same game twice.
Watching your restored games for quite some time. You do seem to have strayed from an exact restoration to a more artistic one. I realize at lot is on the customer. I really like the direction you are traveling.
You have truly made it an art form.
LTG : )
Wasn't sure how I felt about all the black but have to say it really comes together in the end. Looks awesome and another one I wish was coming my way.

It varies but generally I use STI because it is most user friendly for the end recipient.
You hear good and bad stories about all shipping companies but what I have found is it really comes down to the employees. Around here I can’t say enough good things about my regular STI crew. They are great.
TAFBP played great right off the bat
I am always a little hesitant to accept that so easily but honestly I kicked it around and everything works and flows just as it should so if it ain’t broke?
I only played it maybe five times

Mavericks favorite toy is a Tow Mater left over from the kids circa 2006
It is a tough stuffed toy made by Mattel
Mama has had to sow it up a few times so I hunted down a replacement.
Doesn't beer go bad? It's not like wine right? I don't drink beer but I remember the "Bitter Beer Face" adds.
Quoted from bohunr:Doesn't beer go bad? It's not like wine right? I don't drink beer but I remember the "Bitter Beer Face" ads.
depends on the ingredients in the beer. milkshake stouts have a shelf life of about 3 months after brewing due to the milk lactose in it. bourbon barrel aged and other [high octane] (10% ABV or more) beers can last for years if properly stored and actually taste better after "resting" for a period of a year or more
you don't want to temperature cycle them over and over, but rather store them at a nice constant 66-72° in a dry place until you're ready to chill them down for consumption
