Quoted from mmr61184:

Because nobody wants to look at that ass clown Alec Baldwin’s face. Just like the Flinstones and ugly Rosie O’Donnell

For the life of me I cannot understand the hate on the Flintstones translite. I think it’s great. People would rather have a creepy sexual cartoon one than the original, it’s mind boggling.

Quoted from radium:

You aren’t kidding those are heavy! I have the momma sized one, free from a job site of a friend. Drywall square for reference. Didn’t know they made dollys for them
[quoted image]

That is a heavy beast there.
I couldn’t stand leaving my cabinet alone.
Spent hours sanding all the spilled paint off of it.
I had a bunch of industrial enamel in safety orange on hand so I put it to use.

There is also a flintstones one out there that is just the cartoon characters not the sexual used version. I personally prefer to play the game without Rosie staring back at me

Chris, Somehow I knew that was going to happen. Knowing you I knew after fixing that room up that unpainted cabinet wasn't going to last long. Looking good!

I think I have one of those coming up soon. First HEP Flintstones.

Slowly getting my prep and paint rooms back together.
I am going to build some new cabinet dollies out of iron pipe this week.
I think I figured out what sizes fittings, how to add wheels etc.
I will cover it.

Refinished a fleet of AFM ships amongst the chaos in the paint room.
Here’s a video for that.

Doesn’t look like much but it was an expensive chore.
I built in a way to level the cabinet using the cap plugs.

Whoa I dig that. Bet it’s kinda heavy, which is probably pretty ideal for that purpose.

I love the versatility of that cabinet stand. Nice creation!

Thanks. I believe I am going to make removable wooden tops for them that are the exact size of the inner bottom of the cabinets regular and wide body.
That would save me a good bit of tape and paper as well as make them mobile workbenches when not in use.
I have to figure things out as I go. Not good with plans only goals.

I love it. I'm going to do my usual and copy another thing HEP does. My restoration skills have increased tremendously thanks to you sharing your knowledge. I still have a long way to go, but learning as I go has increased the enjoyment of restoration.

I like the new cabinet stand as well, except for the top part that the cabinet rests against. Looks like it could mar the cabinet bottom quite easily. Maybe some type of TPU cap over those??

Those caps aren’t sharp and would be fine but you are right it would be easy and better to put a buffer between them and the cabinet.
I decided I wanted to make them tables and have the ability to automatically mask the bottoms.
That wasn’t hard.
I cut mdf to exactly fit standard and another to fit wide.

Two different suppliers for the artwork?

#12129 1 year ago
Quoted from Kawydud:

Two different suppliers for the artwork?

Yes. One set is Phoenix Arcades the other PPS.
The PAs are a bit oranger with less green shading than the PPS. They are screen printed the PPS are next generation.
Either are fine but when you see them side by side like that it highlights the differences.
I am intentionally building two different versions. One black one chrome so it sets them a little further apart.
The black will work best with the orange chrome with the red.

#12130 1 year ago

You can see a lot of difference with the details of the stars, PA is on the left I am guessing since it has more orange, but then I look at the detail on the right one a think that it is the one from Darrin.

Yeah both made off the “factory films”
Honestly I have done both a prototype and many production AFMs.
The prototype was redder and the art was smaller more like the PPS.
You can see that a bit better here.

So which of the two look more like the original. I have always been a big fan of Darrin’s work. His TZ and TAF decals are dead on

2 different decal vendors one on the left is Phoenix arcade decals and one on the right is PPS next gen

Screens always blows digital away. That’s why I don’t understand why PPS refuses to continue to work with Phoenix Arcade, Darin makes a beautiful product

the one on the right looks better from a graphic standpoint, but the quality of the Phoenix is better for sure.

Yeah, much more subtlety in coloring and highlights, especially obvious on the alien heads. The red also has much more pop.

Started physical therapy for a torn rotator cuff this week. I kept looking around the gym for the perfectly restored pin I would be taking home with me. I guess I have a different definition of HEP than my physical therapist!

Built a new assembly table for my assembly room.
Should hold a games worth of parts on the bottom shelves.
Tried to make it about the footprint of a game.
