What's with that Habs logo, some NHL farm team?

Another job for the windshield cradle

Lol. St Cloud State University in Minnesota. I went there for college.
High_End_Pins I really dig the look of these yellow starburst posts and chrome acorn nuts. I'm assuming these are 1 1/16" posts. The originals, as I'm sure you know, were 1 3/16". Did you have any fitment issues to deal with by using shorter posts?

No issue there, colors are different! Lol

Enough hijacking, lets get back to high end closets!
Am I the only one that saw the aftermath pictures and the first thing thought was "oooh... a Genesis!"
Chris, I'm doing a KISS restore soon. This will be my first stencil. It will also be the first cabinet paint that's not rattle can. What type paint do you use and recommend?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Kiss and IJ AY are packed.
One is picking up in person the other is going to the warehouse waiting for it’s shipping companion to be finished.

I say hitch them up to the bikes and go on a road trip!
Quoted from Stretch7:I need to invest in a good weight set specifically to hold decals, i like the square bottoms on them
I'm digging the 2 tone. Is there many games you have done 2 tone?
There are a few. Tommy if done original style is one. BOP is another.

No issues using star post in place of the longer conical ones.
If you did run into one you could add two washers on top of the post before you install the screw.

I use automotive base coats and clearcoats but it is probably not practical nor cost efficient for the occasional restoration or hobbyist.
Lots of formulas, chemistry and equipment not to mention experience.
If I were going to do this without that ability this is how I would.
Rust oleum professional oil based in the quart and gallon cans mixed with 10-15% acetone sprayed with 1.7 or slightly larger tip would be fine.
You would be best off waiting a week between colors.
I would say Semi gloss white mixed 50/50 with gloss white for the base
Safety orange
Black same ratio as the white would be close to authentic.
Straight gloss if you want something shiner.
One coat of the stencil colors only so you don’t end up with thick edges.

Finally finishing up the ES I started a couple months ago.
Had an issue with the moving building motor.
Guy that made the kit took care of it for me just took a bit to figure out then send and have it returned. 841C334A-F35A-4456-96C4-D61D2B7C4573 (resized).jpeg

Slowly tearing down my Sopranos project. Lots to document there. C3A63F97-0AC7-4411-A00D-1C564D646DFB (resized).jpeg
Have two more IJs in the works and another ES as well.
I still can’t get over that sopranos shooter rod! I laugh at it everyone I see it. I think I laugh at the thought that it was actually produced and someone actually bought it.
Quoted from Bud:I still can’t get over that sopranos shooter rod! I laugh at it everyone I see it. I think I laugh at the thought that it was actually produced and someone actually bought it.
Me either. It’s so big it’s like grabbing a Barbie doll every time you plunge the ball.
Yeah, that's the shooter rod put in by an owner who never actually played it, it was just another piece of Sopranos memorabilia in their room filled with such.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Me either. It’s so big it’s like grabbing a Barbie doll every time you plunge the ball.
It's just how overly tasteless it is that probably bugs me the most.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:It's just how overly tasteless it is that probably bugs me the most.
There's no accounting for taste, plus it's an easy fix for any future owner, imo!
Myself, I have a bunch of stuff laying around including a full size Mandalorian metal helmet (heavy as hell), full professional Darth Vader costume and lightsaber (thou my girlfriend has got the matching Leia set, lol) and other novelties such as a 2 feet long Eagle from Space 1999. So, yeah. People do get attached to things that are meaningful to them! (Granted, you won't see none of those things near my pins!)
Anyhow, back to HEP!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Started working on a new mailbox.

This will likely be the nicest mailbox in all of North Carolina…maybe the world, lol.

Would add some drop targets for when you get mail..

Make it so the drop target falls down so you know mail has been delivered! Come on Chris you got this!
I expect US MAIL on front to be in a different color

No pinball stuff for the house projects.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:New cheap shutters for the buildings. I have some nicer ones being made for the house. All this stuff will eventually tie together.

Question:
For as many years as you've been doing this kind of work, is there a title that you'd be happy to NEVER see again? (You don't have to name it, and most likely shouldn't!)
Bonus question:
Conversely, are there titles you absolutely love doing? (You may not want to name these either, for fear of a massive influx of work.)

No specific titles well maybe one. In general. Not crazy about most Gottlieb or EM games. The Capcom games are not built to be very serviceable either. I like them fine but they are hard to do HEP style due to the way they are assembled and wired..
I manage to do it but it takes twice as long.
Specifically I seriously doubt I would ever do another SOF unless they make playfields.
The paint job on that cabinet alone is a big enough job. If coupled with a massive playfield restore it’s just too much.
Honestly I am up for and capable of taking on just about anything but I have to make a living and keep the ones in process that flow the best .Those mentioned games or brands are almost always operation killers and that’s why I don’t want/like to do them. When all the dust settles I could have done three typical games but you don’t get paid three times as much not even twice.
If someone could and would truly pay me for the time and effort I gladly would but realistically it’s just not practical business wise. Even with the expense associated with this it’s still often not enough nor very lucrative compared to most other specialized skill sets or services.
Games I like to do would be any and everything I have done before besides those and especially ones I do regularly or can do alternate versions of.
This is a very tough thing to do day in and day out solo so it’s very important to have consistency in order to make it work.
Earthshaker GM finished pictures. Can’t take this one outside. It has a rough backglass but the owner has a new one for it once it arrives.
