High End Pins
High End Pitbikes is about all I have been able to pull off so far but I am always thinking.
Thank you Chris! Yes, I forgot all about the bikes! HEPinball Pitbikes and BBQ.
Quoted from spandol:Thank you Chris! Yes, I forgot all about the bikes! HEPinball Pitbikes and BBQ.
I think you just stop at HIGH END as you know no matter what he's doing it's going to be High End!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Playfield is in the first IJ.

I spent a sh1t ton of time creating a new deflector for the mode saucer … I like what you did there … elegant and simple
IJ one is pretty much done.

The biggest issue is there is no reasonable separation between the harness.
The wiring coming out of the playfield runs through the cabinet as well. 3B146965-6391-4C94-9589-8CEBD8E2482D (resized).jpeg

I spent a good bit of time making some junctions so I could at least get the power box free from the playfield sections.
I disconnected the tracking arms from the playfield and installed some resting brackets so I could get to all the parts at the top of the playfield. 8CE69F0D-38D3-42A3-BF5F-34C1D74D91F9 (resized).jpeg

Man that is a ruff Indy. Hopefully they paid donor game prices. Indies can get expensive regardless of their shape.

I know the owner will appreciate all the hard work you put into this game.
Got the harness off the Airborne playfield.
I do have a NOS playfield for it which is great but it’s not drilled nor dimpled so I need to get this one free and clear of all parts to template it.
I have done a few Capcoms over the years and the playfields are never drilled nor dimpled so it is pretty standard on those I believe.
Hey, I tuned in this weekend to see some work on motorcycles . . . what's up with all the pinball crap?
Started on the IJ(AY)
It’s as rough or rougher than it looks. Nothing unexpected other than a few extras.

Like the last IJ it’s going to need all new sockets, switches ,coils etc. These will never be pretty again.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:Hey, I tuned in this weekend to see some work on motorcycles . . . what's up with all the pinball crap?
Those are just waiting for the final touches
I have been offered a couple projects to work on but I have my hands full with pinball.
On the lookout for a personal project if the right one pops up but it’s the on season for that right now. Seems to be much easier in the winter to find something.
Quoted from loghome895:Can’t wait to see the Bally KISS restored! Going to look like the beautiful Silverball Mania!
I don’t know if Gene and Paul can ever look that good but I will do all I can for those guys.

Chris on that KISS coin door, is it as bad as it appears or is it the reflection? It looks as though someone plated a pretty dinged up door?
So much of the donor game gets trashed. Would it be easier for folks to strip their own games and send you the guts and you put all that in the new cab/playfield combo? Kinda joking, but it would be way cheaper to ship to you, lol.
Quoted from meSz:Chris on that KISS coin door, is it as bad as it appears or is it the reflection? It looks as though someone plated a pretty dinged up door?
Yeah. It’s worse than it looks.

There is no better shipping container for these important parts than the junk cabinets

It shouldn't be tough to make them look better than they sound. I used to love Kiss as a kid, but they aged like milk with the exception of a couple songs. Keep up the good work!
Hey Chris - I have a Junk Yard that I'm hoping to do a back panel conversion like you did in the last TOTAN.
Just a couple questions if you don't mind:
-What did you end up using for trim to hold the marquee on since you don't have the tub any longer? Just standard WPC-S/WPC-89 trim?
-Did the replacement trip cover any gaps that might be left due to the tub being gone?
Thanks for your time and for sharing your work with us!

Me too. I have outgrown most of the music of my youth or maybe tired of it.
Kiss is much bigger than the actual music though I think. It is another symbol of many peoples youth.

On the TOTAN I did that on I had a CPR backglass to use and it was printed smaller than the translite.
I used the WPC-95 channels with friction tape to cover the edges well and make sure they fit tight.
I went into it thinking I was going to be able to just use standard WPC trim but that trim covers more from the back. The WPC-95 trim covers from the front.

How in the world do you know where to drill without the mechs in place? On the few playfields I've swapped, the dimples were nowhere near accurate. Are you hand placing and marking each assembly beforehand?

image (resized).jpg
ES is a pretty labor intensive restore with the painted cabinet. Lots of topside hardware and ball guides three ramps and then just the nature of the system 11 wiring to work through.
image (resized).jpg
I am going to try to tap the harness while wiring the rest tomorrow And eliminate all these from the moving building kit.
Finally got the yard pretty straight.
About $3000 on materials plus my own free labor.
First load was 15 yards of mulch and 4 yards of stone.

Wow, I recently did 1 yd of pecan shell mulch for my front beds and thought that was a herculean effort on my part.
Quoted from Dakine747:Wow, looks great......but.......wouldn't grass seed be easier, not to mention CHEAPER??
First: Aesthetics.
Second: Less mowing. Specifically, around the perimeter of the house and anywhere else that requires added tools to get in close, or in spots where maybe the grass was trampled down to bare patches and would just get trampled down again.
Quoted from Dakine747:Wow, looks great......but.......wouldn't grass seed be easier, not to mention CHEAPER??
Probably not. We often go on water restrictions here and if you water your grass enough they triple the per CcF rate.
Less grass less water. Easier to focus on keeping the grass you have looking good.
New week I got a couple games out and had several come in. Getting close to capacity once again. It’s taking much longer to work through games these days many are just so rough.
