The pictures are amazing, but I am really enjoying the YouTube channel. I find it incredibly soothing as well. Like watching Bob Ross, but with pinball!

Chris' skills are just amazing to me (and I know others can do just as well) and I am always in awe.

Thanks for the update! I will be clicking thru some of his TZ restorations in the coming days

I just updated all of the TZ pages (amazing how many of these he has restored), so you should be good.

Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

I wanted to give an update on this gallery issue and ask for everyone's help. I've been helping Chris with his gallery, but we are facing a multitude of technical challenges that I'm not going to elaborate on. Just know that Chris has tens of thousands of photos in his gallery, many with descriptions, so it is a valuable resource. Rest assured that all of the original photos are there, but the application is not proactively generating the cached thumbnails and full size images it presents. At this point what I have found is that when you let a page fully load and thumbnail images are missing if you will perform a browser refresh then the gallery app will generate some of the additional thumbnails and images. Perform a refresh again and more appear, and if you repeat the process eventually all of the images will be generated on a given page. I've personally done this on dozens of pages, but I just don't have the time to cover everything.
This is where you can help. As you have time either proactively or as you are researching a pin, please perform the above browser refresh process for all of the pages of the pin you are looking at. It will only take a couple of minutes, and once the cache images are generated they will be there for anyone who visits those pages in the future. We may still run into some issues as we approach file limits, but for now this seems to be working.

Just a heads up that the gallery link off main page is not working. The link is resolving to http://christopherhutchins.com/gallery3/ instead of http://christopherhutchins.com/gallery/main.php (which I assume is the intended destination). I am hitting CTRL-F5 to refresh some pages.

The link on the page is correct. You need to clear your browser cache and try again, please.

As a point of clarity, the link to the gallery on the HighEndPins website is currently incorrect and being addressed, so thank you for reporting that. In the interim you may access the gallery by going to http://christopherhutchins.com and clicking on the gallery link there.

Chris are you using Wordpress for your website?

While I do not officially speak on HEP's behalf and I'm not willing to openly share everything we've done together, the current gallery is based on a legacy PHP system. We actually setup a new Wordpress gallery, but soon came to the realization that we could not migrate the gallery to it. While the sheer volume of photos could be overcome, the problem is losing all of the tens of thousands of captions that go with the photos. Therefore, we did our best to upgrade what we could in place and move on.

According to HEP the gallery is no longer an active platform given the other newer media outlets. However, since it is such vast reference resource for both HEP and the pinball community in general, the site is being kept online even if it is no longer being added to.

Finished most of the TTTOTAN parts up today including building up a completely brand new dmd panel. There just wasn’t anything worth reusing off the old one.
Started the final assembly.

Quoted from hisokajp:

I understand the desire to regrain to re-produce the factory look, but mirror-polished stainless ball guides resist ball trails a LOT longer and do not generate anywhere near the metal dust of grained ball guides. And, they look fantastic. Win-win-win.

i don't recall those micro switches with rollover arm and plastic base on the usual pinball parts site, is that from a HEP secret source?

Snap your switch onto it.

#10377 2 years ago

i looked at that but it does not look the same from Chris videos i think, and PBL does not have the "rollover" type arm for micro switch so i thought they maybe from a difference source?

Wired the TTTOTAN switches all new less a couple specific targets with protections.

Couple days of work there. All new head to toe. Each socket has a protected lead some require or benefit from two depending on location and how close they are to other stuff.

The final straw on this TTTOTAN was I ended up having to make a new opto harness.
The old needed more repairs than starting from scratch.

you are still using the punched IDC connectors on that remade Opto harness? Is it to stay aligned with factory or you do not believe crimped molex are more reliable? just curious-

Either are fine if done properly but my choice is usually based on the profile of it.
In this case having the wires come out of the sides is cleaner than coming out of the top. Especially when dealing with the trough.
