nothing that i have heard, hopefully all is good in HEP land
Wow! A Picasso painting in process! Thank You for your tedious work and patience’s! Looking good Christopher!
Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!
I finished the TOTAN
Did the final rework and clear on the SBM cabinet.
Moved it out of the paint shop.
Finished the Whirlwind
Inside and on.

Tommy “Two-Tone”
Interested to see how you tackle these, and what will be unique on each.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:I must say that this is the first restoration of yours I've seen that really blows.
you away?
Quoted from bluespin:you away?
Well, if I was honest I'd say that all HEP restorations blow me away. Impressive work as always on the Whirlwind!
Quoted from Flash71:Just wait to you see when he does mine. Pretty sure we’ve never seen this title tackled here before so should be interesting. Here’s a hint. Lol!

It blows because the topper has a fan in it that blows air…. get it?

Quoted from kcZ:Chris,
Any idea why most of your gallery looks like the attached pic? I pulled this from one of your links, although the page that you linked to (6) was fine this page looks like what I see most of the time that I look thru your gallery now. [quoted image]
I think most are locked and only viewable by the owner of the game:
Set up another TOTAN today. This is one rough turd.

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:I already called it...lol. It's cybernaut. Not a guess, that's what it is. Should be a cool build. [quoted image]
Can’t wait! Love the art package. A rare gem imo.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Here is a video for the TOTAN.
If you sold it or bought it here no offense but I would love to see the ad just out of curiosity.
Love how they put radcals on that turd thinking it would make it all better. What a waste of radcals...
Quoted from Jack8765:No Pinside drama or anything as Chris explains here:
He mentioned he is refreshing his website and will be updating on YouTube. Check out his channel. The videos are awesome!
What happened to the AFM flaking clear youtube video? I was going to add it to the HEP UNCHAINED section of the keyposts, but it looks like it's gone?

Not sure I will look. When I first started doing the videos again I thought I would purge them weekly but after some request I realized it was best to leave them up.
That AFM is coming up soon.

Yeah after the blunt TOTAN turd video, I thought that and the AFM flaking clear video would be good inaugural entries in HEP Unchained for the index.

What is HEP Unchained (asking as owner of the flaking AFM)?

It's just a label I put on Chris' straight talk videos where he takes apart a pinball subject in a brutal manner like the TotAN "turd" machine he got in, which is pretty uncharacteristic blunt talk for Chris and therefore funny (at least to me). Basically just to organize them going forward so they're all in the same place in the topic index.

That's great, appreciate the effort!
I always keep following Chris over the years
So i thought i would finally take on a cab restore .
how hard can it be as Chris makes it look so easy
I have painted cars back in in the 90s
and doing cab restores is another beast
the effort and prep to
do this is a lot more harder than i thought
f... i hate wood

agreed my least favorite part of a restore, Chris just had such skills and experience (as well as the right set up and tools), the amount of work cannot be underestimated!
Quoted from Pinballemporium:I bet that TOTAN was the one Fernando had from the container that sat in port forever. I looked at a bunch of the machines and they were just too far gone. I think Matthew (The Director) bought it and got rid of it.
Not to hijack HEPs thread, but I bought that one from the director and restored it myself, big project that took a couple years to gather parts and restore.

No but I am pretty sure I did a FH out of that lot and Buds IJ that you saw here in pieces might be from that container too
The old days of the Argentina container games. Still working through them.

That looks great Bud. I see the HEP influence in the nice black looms.

That is some tidy wiring with the cat-gut!
Primed the TOTAN cabinet and lamp panel. Refinished all that stuff.
Ready for the dumpster. 623F3627-A13D-4F91-A8EB-067AEBA14DA4 (resized).jpeg
New cabinet screened and decaled the front edges were refinished to match.
Will black out the rest tomorrow.
Thank you Christopher for posting your corner technique on YouTube tonight. It was exactly what I was going to ask if you could do. Much appreciated. Erik

I wanted to give an update on this gallery issue and ask for everyone's help. I've been helping Chris with his gallery, but we are facing a multitude of technical challenges that I'm not going to elaborate on. Just know that Chris has tens of thousands of photos in his gallery, many with descriptions, so it is a valuable resource. Rest assured that all of the original photos are there, but the application is not proactively generating the cached thumbnails and full size images it presents. At this point what I have found is that when you let a page fully load and thumbnail images are missing if you will perform a browser refresh then the gallery app will generate some of the additional thumbnails and images. Perform a refresh again and more appear, and if you repeat the process eventually all of the images will be generated on a given page. I've personally done this on dozens of pages, but I just don't have the time to cover everything.
This is where you can help. As you have time either proactively or as you are researching a pin, please perform the above browser refresh process for all of the pages of the pin you are looking at. It will only take a couple of minutes, and once the cache images are generated they will be there for anyone who visits those pages in the future. We may still run into some issues as we approach file limits, but for now this seems to be working.

Thanks for the update! I will be clicking thru some of his TZ restorations in the coming days
