Wish my floor looked that clean after painting ...must have some really good ventilation.
Just curious ....is there any benefit with that flooring or just wanted something softer to walk on or is it to preserve concrete/wood?

Then back to the Knockout.
The original post are very yellowed so I ordered more.
The new ones don’t even kind of match one another.
My only solution to have a nice matching set of post will be to shave the tall ones down.

Hey your Knockout is looking beautiful so far! Totally not trying to hijack your thread here -- someone referred me over here to share this with you, due to what you went through with your posts. I've been 3D printing some beautiful colored posts to replace the old white ones. Coincidentally, the first pin I ever tried this on (that I'd forgotten about, because I didn't have my own printer yet) was actually a Knockout! I'd gotten short-changed in my white posts order from a popular vendor, and rather than wait for more, I asked my friend to print some for me -- but decided to try them in red. I put them along the rollover lanes up top and they looked awesome, like they were meant to be there:

pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Since then, I've started printing my own (and have created an improved model to print from) and turned it into a little side gig. I print them in all different colors -- and even multicolored ones like three colors stacked vertically or even six colors striped at an angle! I have them in the three main sizes, 1", 1-1/16", and 1-1/8", and even make the elusive Siamese ones. See pics below.

You obviously already put a ton of work into making your white ones work, with all the grinding and whatnot, but if you're interested in trying colored ones instead, this could make your game (or others in the future) pop even more. Please reach out if I can help, they're in my shop here on Pinside (https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1282-rocket-city-pinball) or on my website, https://rocketcitypinball.com .

Cool. I have a few projects brewing that these might work for.

The knockout is pretty much done
The last few days I have spent countless hours chasing issues and troubleshooting.
EMs are just super time consuming on the backend and will try your patience which is why I usually refuse them but I am getting to a comfort level with them and know way more than I did during similar projects past.
So after I fired up the Knockout to play test it I heard buzzing here lights not coming on there.
The very same coils that were burnt when it came in started heating up once again heading for the same fate.
If it wasn’t a locked on 10point relay it was a buzzing score reel or a humming bonus unit and a melting center unit.
I was tired of making an adjustment one place only to have to make another somewhere else.
I decided to just pull the steppers and really go through them in a way you just can’t unless you get it out of the game or off the playfield.
The amount of time spent making that happen was tough to justify but in the end it cured all issues. They are on plugs now and can easily be removed or unplugged instead of melting down.
All it takes it a stuck playfield switch on one of these and it happens.

Then I spent time painting and clearing the Playboy cabinet.
Also a new set of playfield rails and a playfield set for an upcoming project.

Playboy cabinet looks great. Here's a dumb question...do master templates/diagrams for scratch-made cabinets exist? I would love to attempt and build a new cab from scratch at some point, if there were diagrams available that were true to the originals.

Knockout is done.
Was hoping to get it outside for final pictures but it’s been a little too chilly to drag a game with a true backglass from the warmth of the inside immediately to the cold outside so in case I don’t get a chance over the weekend here are some finished pictures with the limited lighting of my garage.

Quoted from Stretch7:

Just curious ....is there any benefit with that flooring or just wanted something softer to walk on or is it to preserve concrete/wood?

That flooring is a covering used to make a floor static free and overspray easily swept up.
What I like about it is it is durable but can be changed out yearly.
It cost about $1000 for a roll I think but it is enough to do my floor twice which is 20x16.

Not that I know of.
Over the years I have had no less than six different cabinet builders.
One even has the Williams cut spec files and there are regular inconsistencies.
The most accurate cabinets are when you have one in hand to copy and a skilled attention to detail builder.

Thanks.
I take the final pictures before I really play test it thoroughly and go over everything.
It just makes for the cleanest pin for the pictures.
That center rollover insert in particular drove me nuts.
I finally replaced the switch for one with a little more tension.
One insert rollover can be painful to dial in but twelve was really painful. I think seven needed nothing but the other five !?!?
Lots of revisions.

Knockout is gorgeous. On minor question driven by my OCD. The upper left lane guides are red. Did you consider switching to green lane guides to match the color scheme in that area (green background and green bumper cap graphics)?

I did actually but I couldn’t find any that were lime green looking enough.

It’s ready to pack up.

Made a new lamp panel for the Centaur 2 conversion.
This is a really tough conversion nowhere near as much carry over between the 1 and 2 as I would have imagined. 774DD87A-4372-4ED4-9545-26F96E614817 (resized).jpeg774DD87A-4372-4ED4-9545-26F96E614817 (resized).jpeg
It’s not the basics like the cabinet or the lamp panel it’s much deeper.
The way they changed connector styles, reinvented the backbox wiring completely.
The lack of hinges and that sort of thing has made it far more complicated.
I also started staging up my Mystic cabinet. I am trying to get as many of the Bally solid state games in the mix as I can stand while I am in that mode.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Curtis’ daughter celebrated her very first birthday Sunday.
That’s one happy and alert little baby!

If she's anything like _my_ one-year-old was, that cupcake wound up in her hair.

I am going to refinish some trim
In order to do that you have to metal prep then etch/epoxy prime.
I put Curtis to work on the prep.

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

Time to start staging up the new Centaur cabinets.

Absolutely itching to see what you do with these. Just sold my Centaur without giving it a proper chance, plus i'm jonesing to see what you do with noone with expectations on the other end.

I'm also interested in seeing what he does with these Centaurs. I have one the is in need of restoring so I'll be watching this closely.

Not sure myself quite yet.
I just start working and see where it goes.
They are ready to paint.

Cleared that. I will stencil it in a couple days.
I am going to keep my own build under wraps for now because I don’t want any suggestions or influences.
