TOTAN wiring continues.
This ones starting to remind me s bit of that BSD I just finished a couple weeks ago.
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

Part of the problem is the condition but honestly most of it is my own OCD.
When I see a rusty socket I want to replace them all.
CE42A6CE-4FD3-4E68-9750-0B134EAB76DF (resized).jpegCE42A6CE-4FD3-4E68-9750-0B134EAB76DF (resized).jpeg

When I replace them all then I don’t want to use old wire.
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

When I use new wire then I want to make sure it can’t short any possible way so I need protection
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

When I put those protections in place then I have to make sure they stay put so I need zip ties.
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

Then if I go through all that I may as well make it easier to mate back into the main harness so I need a plug.
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

But what if someone else plugs it in wrong?Need to make sure that is impossible so I need to make a different scheme for the plug
image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg
You get the idea I am sure and this is happening at every single socket ,switch ,and coil. It’s the difference in doing it in 30 hours or 60 but it isn’t always noticed or appreciated.

The devil is in the details, Chris, and this is why your work stands out above others!

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

These are the ones I like to use to adjust the Larger wire guides.

Thanks, Chris! I'll have to find a pair of those...wireforms are my least favorite component of the topside install - in fact, I'd rather do pop nails!

I don't recall you saying - where do you get your color-accurate wire? I know BAA has some 18 and 22AWG, but it's not a lot. There are a lot of color/stripe combos often found in pinball he doesn't have. I was looking for some 24AWG and came up empty.

Am I the only guy on here without a set? Thanks for the links, gang!

All the TOTAN sub assemblies are in place now I can start placing the actual harnesses.
Should go quicker from here.

Little insight please! I saw how you remove decals by gently pulling them off , however what do you use to reinstall them?
Thanks Advance...

POTO finally begins teardown.
Has taken a while to circle back around to this one because it is a certain type of project and that type of slot has been overly full this year.
The biggest hold up is that I have an NOS playfield but it isn’t drilled or dimpled so I need to gut the old one. This means racks and shelves will be cluttered with parts for an extended period of time and those racks and shelves have already been filled with other parts off similar projects for an extended period of time and are just now freeing up.
This is something that can be lost or hard to explain when it comes to how or when certain projects are done compared to others.

I will leave the ugliness on the inside for the most part because it will add thickness and strength.

Hey, Chris. Could you advise what the exact name of that tool you use in your drill to polish the guide rails? Looks like a paddle wheel of red scotch bright, but I'm not finding it online with random google search terms that seem like they should make sense. Thanks in advance.
