Quoted from shirkle:

As far as the cabinet colors go, I thought about the red fading also, but then realized the actual red sections on each game are nice and bright still. Definitely looks like differences in production somehow.

Not uncommon in playfields or cabinets. PFs more than cabinets as they seemed to have more suppliers for them.

Pull up the audits on MM1 before you break it down . Someone obviously put a lot of work into keeping that one running. It must have earned a ton

Quoted from High_End_Pins:

While waiting for MM 1s eggshell to fully dry I will wash It’s translite as well.

Then dried.
[quoted image]

Jaw on floor... what's your method on washing translites? I know they can be easily destroyed.

I want to know how you avoid spending 1/4 of your day cleaning your paint guns

#102 5 years ago
Quoted from High_End_Pins:

I use a quick cup system for smaller jobs.the sleeves are disposable
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
On my larger more crucial jobs my guns are equipped with quick release 1/4 turn cups. [quoted image]
[quoted image]
Couple that with A small special clean up bottle full of thinner and it minimizes clean up time and waste.
[quoted image]

So you just spray MS or thinner vs disassembly each time? It's the paranoia cleaning of the gun itself that bogs me down...

Quoted from sohchx:

Livin' on the wild side by doing that with no respirator unless that vacuum and filter is running behind him, but still.

Yes, those festol tools are vacuum and filtered... which is why he can do that job without the mess or any clogging. And why they cost thousands

#261 5 years ago

Do you make your own coil sleeve labels or do you use the ones planetary sells?

They just seem so expensive...

#273 5 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

What is your process for refinishing the metal on the mechs?
Details please and thx.

He swaps them out for parts he's already had nickel plated

#318 5 years ago

Ha... I was just going to ask if you prefer following the factory paths for oem look... or if you optimize . Beat me to it!

#331 5 years ago

The scotchpad doesn't remove the plating on the back panel? Thought that one was zinc plated too... (and loves to stain! ugh)

Quoted from mbwalker:

I'm still a noob at this, and one thing I've purposely done is to not take everything off at once. Just too many little do-dads that I'd forget where they went. Hundreds and hundreds of photos of everything, and possible every angle helps a lot. But I only tackle small sections at a time despite taking forever. More often than not, I almost cringe when I see one for sale that been 'stripped and cleaned' - worries me that they didn't put things back correctly.

When starting out, you can help yourself as you do by breaking the game up into sections... this reduces how many choices you have to pick from Take some solo cups, and put all the hardware from that area into the cup. Make a small note of what the cup is.. and put the note in the cup. Done Where it gets harder is when you want to tumble/etc all the hardware at once.

Quoted from mbwalker:

How do you keep everything sorted out? Have you just done so many it's second nature?

For Chris... basically it's that He's done so many he's told us before he has the main stuff on-recall
