Quoted from High_End_Pins:Going to prep and clear the playfields today.
Nice job! Do you always start at 180 grit and work your way up or just 180?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:I have definitely ingested worse. A meatloaf my wife made back in 2001 comes to mind
Whoa! You even remember the year!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Yes I do. I was working a bit late so she decided just to keep it in the oven until I got home.
When she pulled it out of the oven I wasn’t sure if I should eat it or stitch it up with white laces and punt it across the yard.
Needless to say that is no longer on the menu around here.
That’s funny!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Lower is being masked.
It is done in a way that is not in total or edge to edge in order to give the correct factory screened look not a sharp stenciled look the reason for that is because of some very minor details that would be ruined otherwise
This would be things like somewhat 3D looking details like the overlap pictured.
Looking great! What do you use to mask the art?
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Frisket like material made for stenciling but Frisket itself is fine too.
Well it looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Cabinet has dried overnight and can better be evaluated.
I knew one of the bigger challenges to pulling off the color enhancement and matching would be how it would show in the areas I just could not paint.
That would be something like the background behind the dots leading to the capcom logo.
Now that it is dry and I can really study it I am extremely satisfied with that and feel confident moving forward later on with the final rework and clear in a few days.
During that final pass I will catch all the minor details like small nicks here or there in other colors and further tighten things up.
So who did you make the background color behind the dots match with the freshly painted areas? That looks absolutely flawless!
