This Medusa is going to be set up to play fast and brutal by Mr HEP. We will be hosting several project pinball tournaments as we always do and look forward to this being the featured game and maybe even have its own side tournament.

Our project pinball tournaments at our home are open to all. If you want to come and see this game in person soon, please let me, TigerLaw, or Jodester know and we will let you know when our next charity event or league night is going to be.

Your paint and polishing skills are incredible hope my medusa restoration will be at least half as nice !

I think AOD should go to HEP for custom paint. It's like a spa for aprons.

#357 3 years ago

Back to the finishing touches on Medusa.
I had to catch the TAF up since it was at 0%and this one was at 95% and they leave together .
Apron is now installed.
I have this plug that normally goes in the credit light hole of the apron but I wasnt crazy about it.
Instead I placed one of these translucent targets under there and it looks nice when lit.
The old cover can easily be pushed right back in if desired and will go back with the game.

Same moderator pay as always, we get a case of beer from Robin the next time we see him (it's always the next time we see him, we are starting to think it's a scam).

Thanks bud, PavBall and I are super excited and our next Project Pinball tournament is going to feature Medusa and TAF side tournaments for sure.

We are already rearranging our game room to give these two beautifies the best display positions (Medusa is going to get a room by itself in the house [a Greek theme'd room] but not till the spring).

Clearly I've not seen all your work... But this one stands out to me in terms of helping someone comprehend how a HEP game is "better than new".

It has all your tell tale elements of
-pf art
-pf clear
-parts restore
-impeccable clean
-perfect paint

But goes further with the artistic choices, the effort/result on the painted trim, how far you've taken your cabinet painting, the custom elements, the plating, the apron, etc

This refurb could be remade into the HEP brochure

Chris dont forget the plan!!! Ship this game to me and I will in turn ship my Medusa to TigerLaw!!! I picked up the flat gold Rustoleum spray can today and did the rails and coin door. TigerLaw is never going to notice the difference!!!

Games arrived. Post some pics Pav. The shipper said he'd never seen packaging like this ever: "the quality of these screws is crazy to use to secure an arcade game" . . . or something like that. Ha!

Get crackin'....you'll be headed to Houston before you know it

#387 3 years ago

Glad to hear they made it.
One thing I meant to mention was you should carefully use an adjustable wrench to install the leg bolts because the powder treatment make a standard 5/8 just a little too tight

I'm glad you mentioned this, Chris. I was wondering how to properly tighten a powdercoated bolt without damaging it. Wouldn't a wrench still potentially scratch it? How do you avoid this?

In addition to Chris' tip about the adjustable wrench, you can also use these PinGuard nylon leg and bolt protectors from Pinballlife...

http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2517

They're available in multiple color choices, and they work very well.

Since I have to put together Tiger's machines later today, I am wondering the same thing. My idea was an adjustable wrench taped to prevent damage to the bolts.

#392 3 years ago

There are two sets of bolts included but in all honesty there is no way to do this perfectly.
Not here or there so don't stress about it too much.
I keep the colors here so if there is a mishap just let me know and we will get it you fixed up.

Also if there are any questions or concerns during the set up process do not hesitate to give me a call right on the spot.704-351-2014
